Troubles you make

Hanani the seer came to Asa king of Judah, and said to him: "Because you have relied on the king of Syria, and have not relied on the Lord your God...In this you have done foolishly; therefore from now on you shall have wars."
2 Chronicles 16:9 - NKJV
Troubles often arise from our own foolishness. A lot of the troubles we experience aren't directly manufactured by the devil. We make our own. By "foolish" acts or words we bring troubles upon ourselves or take ourselves into them.
Here's a list of ways you invite troubles: 1) Failing to seek the Lord for His guidance and wisdom in situations you face. 2) Ignoring the godly counsel available to you and instead leaning to your own understanding of what to do. 3) Going ahead with things without checking or waiting for the Lord's green light. 4) Letting your tongue get lose so it speaks without the taming, controlling influence of the Holy Spirit. 5) Letting your behaviour get outside of the sphere of conduct that the fruit of the Spirit provides. Isa.55:6; Prov.3:5; 1 Sam.13:8-14; Ja.3:5-6; Gal.5:22-23, 6:8.
Have you been doing things like that? How do you stop the troubles now? My wife and I in the early 1990s were looking to the Lord for a serious improvement in our finances. God responded, "OK but what about all the negative confessions you've made about your financial state?" He was giving us responsibility for the turn around. We accepted it, asked forgiveness and determined to change our speech. Soon after that, by God's grace, things began improving. Let God show you what you are responsible for, ask forgiveness and turn things around in your life to doing and saying things God's way.
God's way is the best way!
