This topic is in the men's room, and I thought everyone should be able to discuss this topic. So here is my post from that thread. Here is the foundations layed out for One God, One Saviour and One Holy Spirit = Trinity
Let me set the foundation of One God:
Isa 43:10 Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.
Isa 44:6 Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.
Isa 44:8 Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any.
Isa 45:5 I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me
Isa 45:21 Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the LORD? and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me.
And look what it say's in Hosea
Hsa 13:4 Yet I am the LORD thy God from the land of Egypt, and thou shalt know no god but me: for there is no saviour beside me.
Now that I set the foundation for One God. These last two verses speak of a Saviour. What does the Bible say about who the Saviour is?
Luk 2:11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
Phl 3:20 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:
1Ti 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the commandment of God our Saviour, and Lord Jesus Christ, which is our hope;
2Ti 1:10 But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:
Tts 1:4 To Titus, mine own son after the common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour.
Tst 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
So we can see that the Bible speaks of One Saviour and that is our Lord Jesus Christ. So therefore already we have One God and One Saviour spoken as the same person, which is Jesus Christ.
What does the Bible say about the Holy Spirit? Well I believe that the Holy Spirit is the presence of God in our life, a promise from Jesus Himself that he will bring on to each of us that believe in Him as a sealed promise unto our meeting Him.
Eph 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise
