too much tv?

I watch very little really. There's just nothing interesting on. The only things i watch now are football, news and the odd documentary.

well, i figure the news is full of it, and am not a football fan, so i guess that leaves me with the odd documentary

I don't watch TV anymore. The more I read scripture the less I desire to sit around and entertain myself with such things. Something tells me that if Jesus were here today, he wouldn't spend a whole lot of time watching the news, football or any of the other vanity laced programming that is on. I am quite sure he might come up to someone who is watching one of the various history channel shows on who Jesus is and say something like, "So who do men say that I am?". Then of course that would be followed up with "But who do you say that I am?".

I have no use for television in my life. I think that it will have a poor witness as testimony in the day of judgment when Jesus Christ judges the secrets of men. I'd rather that there were men there to testify about me, that I spent my time seeking the kingdom of heaven and his righteousness by spreading the gospel and loving my brothers and sisters in Christ with a pure heart fervently.

But it is your time that you have been given. Spend it how you will.

I like how you puff yourself up and then want to love your brothers and sisters in Christ "fervently". If you feel it necessary to X television from your life then more power to ya brother, but lets not make it out to be the unpardonable sin for those that do happen to maybe watch. Let us try to have a balance of priorities...maybe thats a better way to look at it.

Donnie, you and I may not agree about whether watching TV has a place in a Christians life but for me to be led to believe that it hurts most who partake by separating them from the God they claim to love, is to love my brothers and sister in Christ to take such a stance. If you believe that my views are wrong so be it but I expect that you also love your brothers and sisters in Christ by sharing your own views of what is acceptable by God? I hope that you would.

Peace in Christ,

Gary

Bro, I mean no disrepect. Do your thing , thats cool, just don't view yourself on a higher plain. Maybe I'm wrong , thats just how it comes off.
Matthew 6:5
And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

I am no better than anyone else. I am what I am by the grace of God. I do not seek the approval of anyone but God. I know that the bible teaches that we will all be held accountable for our actions and this includes watching TV. We are told that we are to do all things to the glory of God. Watching TV is just something that I can't glorify God doing. If you think you can then it is you who will be explaining that to God, not me. I do not pass judgment upon you as we are not supposed to judge anything before the time. I only share my concerns with others so that those who will, will question themselves and make adjustments as they see necessary. The rest should just ignore me if I seem to be off the mark. Unless of course you worry that I may be judged for my actions and in love don't want to see that happen to me.

In Christ,

Gary

Lately I find myself watching kid shows, fishing,Sports Center, cooking and preaching.Even then I have to be careful on how much of these shows I watch.

I remember watching TV all the time during my
middle school years, but I don't watch TV much
at all except for one show at night with my Grandpa.
We tend to talk through the show though.
I am on the computer more on TalkJesus or I am
reading in my bed.
