tongues

My opinion on, speaking in tongues is just another word for speaking in a different language.
And that is why when we speak in a different tongue we need to make sure that we interpret
(explain) what we said to those who do not speak of that tongue. 1 Corinthians 14:39 Says;

* 1 Corinthians 14:39
Therefore, my brothers, be eager to prophesy, and do not forbid speaking in tongues.

* Meaning, do not forbid in speaking in languages to prophesy, but we must make sure we have an
interpreter or we ourselves must interpret what we are saying for others {and ourselves} to
understand.

For this way would be a fitting orderly way to prophesy &/or speak in a different tongue
{language}. *genesis!

I will agree with you, it is your opinion. Have you tried applying that same reasoning on the whole chapter, especially the first four or five verses?

Speaking in tongues is a gift from God. We share the same divine God, buz what saddens me is that different denominations in my country seems to be apart because of this belief. Even my denomination did not believe in this gift. they say that God gave the early disciples the gift so that they can spread the gospel to the nation( acts). bus isn't our God the same God? the ahpa and the omega? by saying this, they are actually saying that our God had change, which is not true. if our God is not the same one as the God of our early forefathers, we won't be able to find the bible applicable to us.
