But among you it will be different. Those who are the greatest among you should take the lowest rank, and the leader should be like a servant. Luke 22:26
Today you might chip in a few bucks for a Boss’s Day gift. There might be refreshments and a few well-wishes sent to the person in charge.
It’s possible you aren’t sold on the idea of honoring someone who doesn’t seem to possess great leadership qualities. You might even feel like you’re going through the motions on a holiday you never endorsed. On the other hand, maybe you’d celebrate every day if you could. You feel like you have the greatest boss ever and would attempt to move mountains if he asked.
National Boss’s Day got its start in 1958. Patricia Haroski registered the holiday with a specific purpose in mind. Yes, the day was dedicated to bosses, but Patricia wanted to see improvement in the relationships between employers and employees.
If you don’t love your job, then bring love to your job. First Corinthians 13:4-7 says, “Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.”
More can be accomplished when you work together.
