To Be "Faithful Unto Death," Just Be Faithful Today!

The best thing that we could possibly ask of the Lord for ourselves is that we all be faithful! "Be thou faithful unto death," He says, "and I will give you a crown of life!" (Rev.2:10)

If you think about trying to be faithful the rest of your life, that just scares you, that worries you! That's just too big, you'll never make it!--But what about today? You may have had your little trials & testings, you may have gotten discouraged, you may have made mistakes. But have you still got your faith today?--Then you're full of faith! You've been faithful today!

You can only live one day at a time! You can only be faithful one day at a time! So don't worry about when you weren't faithful yesterday or whether you're going to be faithful tomorrow, but do your best to be faithful today! Just be faithful one day at a time. You don't even have to have faith for a whole day. The only faith you need is what you have got right now!--Just have faith for this moment, right now, one moment at a time.

Just be faithful every day, one day at a time, & you will inherit an eternal crown of life!

There is only ONE WAY of being faithful unto death, that is, personal acknowledgment of Jesus Christ as the author and finisher of faith in his unique distinction as "the firstborn from the dead".

The alternative is a miscarriage of faith, a.k.a., certain backsliding.

(John 19: 30-37; Rev. 1:5)

If you love Him, seek Him, trust Him, and draw near to Him, the rest will take care of itself. The closer we get to Jesus, the more we are like Him. As we abide in Christ the Vine, the life of the Vine flows into and permeates us; soon we bear much fruit and He is glorified.
it is now, and always has been all about Him, his ability, and His faithfulness.

Jud 1:24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,
Jud 1:25 To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

1Th 5:23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
1Th 5:24 Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.

Heb 7:25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

Php 2:13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

Heb 13:20 Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,
Heb 13:21 Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

The whole point is we cannot have any communion with Jesus Christ, whatsoever, without first knowing Him in his "faithful witness" as "the first-born from the dead" PERIOD

Not a single one of the things you listed can ever happen for us without our identification with and intimate knowledge of Jesus Christ in His death on the cross, a.k.a.,"the first-born from the dead", i.e., verifiably Spirit-active, perfect and diacritical. There is a powerful vision to see of "the living Christ" complete with absolute power over death and life.

Personal knowledge of Jesus Christ/eternal life is what the gospel is all about!

That is why the alternative is death in one's sins.

Let us beware that the warning by the prophets and the Apostles does not happen to us. "Look you scoffers, wonder and perish, because I am going to do something in your days that you would never believe even if someone told you."

(Hab. 1:5 quoted in Acts 13: 41)

What we would not believe even if someone told us is God's self-revelation in Christ's death on the cross according to the Scriptures. In short, we cannot believe the vision without seeing it. The vision is "finished" and viewable for the asking. (John 19: 30-37)

If you love Him, seek Him, trust Him, and draw near to Him, the rest will take care of itself. The closer we get to Jesus, the more we are like Him. As we abide in Christ the Vine, the life of the Vine flows into and permeates us; soon we bear much fruit and He is glorified.

Talking and putting words on a blog is one thing that brings out courage and we can say yes I will be faithful unto death. Good intentions are wonderful to say, print on a blog, all is good and well what we say. But actual putting your life on the line is all together a different story. But what if your family was involved, and unless you retracted your faith in Christ your child would die? What then? Would you recant you faith if some was beating you so badly and it hurt so bad you could not breathe?

Is being faithful unto death mean we will remain true in reading Scripture every day? How about our money? Is being faithful unto death mean tithing is a measure of faithfullness? How many souls have we shared Christ with, is that not being faithful?

Few if any of us will ever be threatened with our physical lives. However are not these other areas more common, and we do really face our faithfullness in the areas mentioned? I am sure everyone of us has failed the LORD and our unfaithfullness is something we really need to think about. The Bible says if we are not faithfull in small things, we won't have the chance to be found faithful in other things.

I just wanted to give us something we all can relate to, that's all I have to say. Blessings.

In my humble opinion, "To be faithful unto death" means to continue growing without any doubt whatsoever in one's personal knowledge of and faith in Jesus Christ all of one's life.

Blessings!

What is deeply worrying is the proverbial CHRISTIAN DISOBEDIENCE to Jesus Christ (Matt. 9: 17-17) as the model of "faithful witness", a.k.a., "the first-born from the dead", for our imitation, and confirmation by the Holy Spirit proper which is lacking completely today! (John 16: 5-33; Acts 14:3; Rev. 1)
