Timothy

Question, is there any evidence to point to how old Timothy was when he began to preach?

We know a few things about Timothy.
His mother was a Jew and his father was a Greek (Acts 16:1)

In first 1Cor 4:17 and 1Tim 1:2 he is called "a child in the Lord" but this is likely his spiritual age rather than his physical age.

We do know he was a younger man.
1Tim 4:12 Let no one look down on your youthfulness, but rather in speech, conduct, love, faith and purity, show yourself an example of those who believe.

Timothy was raised in the faith, therefore not a "novice" (2Ti 1:5 )

1Ti 3:6 [An overseer ] Not one newly taken into the church, for fear that, through his high opinion of himself, he may come into the same sin as the Evil One. BBE

In 1 Tim 4:10, Paul refers to Timothy as a young man. I think we can assume that Paul had the spiritual discernment to pick a mature person. Age doesn't always guarantee maturity.
