This past holiday season, my son (who loves following football) handed me his "wish list" and besides the normal music cd's and video games there were two items which stood out. First he asked for a Micheal Vic jersey, which I instantly identified to him as a gift he wasn't getting. A few items down I was delighted to see that he also requested a Tim Tebow jersey.
I decided that the Tebow jersey was more than acceptable as a gift for a 13 year old boy.
In an age where so many sport figures are celebrated for their athletic ability despite their poor moral fiber, I LOVE seeing a figure who gives all the glory to God for all things. From praying on the field to thanking his Lord and Savior before EVERY press confrence, Tim Tebow is rumored to not just talk the talk but walk the walk as well.
As a native "Denverite" I hope Tim stays here throughout his career but even if he moves elswhere, I hope and pray for his success. WE NEED MORE TEBOWS IN THE SPORT SPOTLIGHTS. Impressionable minds look up to these people and its simply refreshing to see at least one of them point to Christ.
