"By whom we have redemption through His blood......."
Colossians 1:14

Consider the thoughts and facts that relate to the cross of Christ.

Through the Cross we have Redemption.

Unlike any other death Christ's blood was poured out as the ransome price for shackled men and women in the slave market. To any who are shackled by sin I would say, by virtue of the out-poured blood of Christ you can be set free. The chains of sin and bondage can be snapped, and you can go on your way rejoicing.

Through the Cross we have Forgiveness. Col.1:14

By virtue of Christ's substitute sacrifice our sins can be removed....as far as the East is from the West. No other death could have ever, or will ever accomplish that. Think of it: by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ you can know the remission of your sins. You can possess the sense of sins forgiven, your sins remembered no more.

Through the Cross we also have peace.

"Having made peace through the blood of His cross" Col 1:20 This is not a peace made with God: this is a God-made peace. The long struggle between the sin of man and the righteousness of God was brought to an honourable end in the cross of Christ, and peace can be the portion of all who believe - peace that passeth all understanding.

Through the Cross we have reconciliation.

"you.....hath he reconciled in the body of his flesh through death" Col.1:21-22. The cross of Christ is such an overwhelming manifeststion of holy love and holy justice, that to catch a true vision of that cross is to have the enmity of your heart slain, and to experience reconciliation through repentance and faith.
