They Look For Jesus

Member
A second set of lyrics:
Up late one night, pills in a row
Nobody cares, so who will know.
Just one way out, to kill the pain
Nothing to lose, plenty to gain.
I only wish I could believe
My need is now, I need relief.
I cried to God, if He's in Heaven
I'm too far gone to be forgiven.
They look for Jesus and it's us they see.
And we just feed them platitudes.
And expect undying gratitude.
But that's not how He meant it to be.
He hears the cry, He hears the plea.
But here on earth it's you and me
If He's to handle it personally.
Out late one night, car hits a pole
Friends say they care, feel its their role.
A family grieves, and wonders why
Seems the good are the first to die.
We go to church, we do believe
We're hurting now, we need relief.
We cried to God in Heaven above.
Why do this now? Where is Your love?
They look for Jesus and it's us they see.
And we just feed them platitudes.
And expect undying gratitude.
But that's not how He meant it to be.
He hears the cry, He hears the plea.
But here on earth it's you and me
If He's to handle it personally.
They look for Jesus and it's us they see.
And we need to share His love.
His strong and never ending love.
That is the way He meant it to be.
Answer the cry, answer the plea,
Down here He counts on you and me
To handle it for Him personally.
