Even though the bread n hand wasn’t sufficient to feed the multitude present, Elisha put his trust in God’s care and provision. He believed in God’s promise rather than the facts of the moment before him. As it turned out, he quickly went from insufficient food for those in need to an overabundance of food.
When John D. Rockefeller, one of the wealthiest individuals to ever walk the planet, was asked, “How much money is enough money?” he famously replies, “Just a little bit more.” Even when there’s an abundance, it’s human nature to doubt, fear, and worry about the future.
Consider an area of your life where you fear falling short or not having enough. How can you entrust that situation to God? Perhaps you will feel prompted to seek additional help, but what if God is asking you to step forward with what you have, trusting that He can multiply whatever you offer?
Prayer: Lord, on this National Day of Prayer, I trust in Your abundance to care for my needs and the needs of others.
