There is only one law to obey in and with Jesus

JesusIs4Me,
You must understand the Fruit of the Spirit is the Character of Christ. This is what a believer must develop in themselve. The 30%, 60% and 100% are degrees as God speaks of. It also is and example. God is not saying if you bring forth 35%, 85% or 90% there a problem. Anything between 30% and 100% the believer is good.

Eph 4:22 That you put off concerning the former behavior the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
Eph 4:23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
Eph 4:24 And that you put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

This is the believers responsibility.

BUT how he goes about that responsibility is by placing his confidence in the Lord to finish His work in them; trust is the basis for all relationships and without faith in Him to finish His work in us, we cannot please God for we can do nothing without Him.

Philippians 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ: ....11 Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God

John 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

So I agree that we are going to be hedl accountable for what we sow towards; the works of the flesh or the fruits of the Spirit; but HOW we go about this for those desiring to follow Him is by trusting Him to do His work in us; NOT by keeping a cmmitment to do so where men can and have boasted in their religious flesh for keeping.

Thank you for sharing, brother.

JesusIs4Me,

Let me show you what is confusing to me. When you say, “trusting in Christ to do His work in us.” What do you mean and what is the work Christ is responsible to do in us?

You said, not by keeping a commitment to do… What do you mean?

God will have mercy, undeserved forgiveness, on who he wants. He alone is my hope not me or you or any other prideful human.
Forgiveness comes if you forgive others. This is what our Lord says in the Lord prayer (Matthew 6:9-10).

We must take responsibility for what we do or don't do, because on judgment day, we will be judged by the words Jesus spoke (John 12:48).

I caution you not to take lightly the commandments of our Lord, or you may have eternity to regret it.

In peace

Have you not read 1 Corinthians 11:31? You may try and heap anxiety upon me and others while deeming yourself acceptable before the sinless Lord God/Jesus but I trust in Him and will be anxious for nothing as, no matter what any other mere human does, all of us mere humans are in God's hands here and hereafter forever. @Hiswillbedone

1Co 11:31 For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.

1Co 11:32 But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.

The reason God tells believers to judge themselves is because Judgment will begin at the house of God (1Tim. 4:17,18). If you don’t judge yourself God will chasten you for you to bring forth fruit/character of Christ that you are not condemned with the world.

Heb 12:11 Now no chastening for the present seems to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.

Some believers will not judge themselves and will be condemned with the world as scripture teaches. They will be gather out of the Kingdom of God.

Mat 13:41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;

Mat 13:42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

Mat 13:43 Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.

Mat 13:49 So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just,

Mat 13:50 And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

Again, if we love each other we are loving God who loves us. Love God is only accomplished by loving us humans as pitiful as we are
That's pretty shallow thinking when even the heathens love each other.
We Love God first and we love others second and that completes the new law.

It's only when we understand God/Jesus' love that we know what real love is. God loves us, clearly we fall short by what we say about our mere brothers in humanity.

@regibassman57 shared my thoughts pretty well @this human

People have so often convince themselves that they can escape accountability from God, just by hiding behind a couple of 'proof texts'. Jesus is clear that we will be judged according to His words (John 12:48).

Anxiety is a result of fear. Who do you fear?

Whoever you fear, is the one who controls you. Are we being controlled by God, or are we hiding from God like Adam and Eve. All of this should paint a clearer picture of the kind of worship God wants from His children.

Those who have trouble forgiving others, can always go before that throne of grace and ask Jesus Christ for help and for the love they need to forgive others as He has forgiven us. Hebrews 4:12-16 KJV Philippians 1:6 KJV Philippians 1:11 KJV
