Yesterday we saw that there are times when we need to get one to one with God. But that's not the end of the subject. Like many truths in the Bible this is a coin with two sides. There are other times when we can only experience the fullness of God's presence as we get together with God's people. The place where this happens is Church.
When people who all love Jesus gather together to worship, to praise and to share words of encouragement God's Spirit shows up in a powerful way. We grow together and move forward as we stir each other up with His Word. The world around us can be messy and confusing, stuff happens that leaves us feeling ragged and raw. We struggle and stumble and sometimes feel like losers, but when we gather with the big family called the Church we're reminded that we're on the winning side.
Let's get real; it's hard to celebrate all by yourself! When you have something worth celebrating you text everybody and invite to the party so you can share the joy. Well Jesus is so excited about His awesome victory at the cross that He invites us every week (and even more often if we're up for it) to celebrate what He achieved for us. And celebration is a group activity.
