Use what God's given you
''...HE HANDED FIVE THOUSAND COINS TO THE FIRST SERVANT, TWO THOUSAND TO THE SECOND, AND ONE THOUSAND TO THE THIRD...'' MATTHEW 25:15
Jesus told a story about a businessman who gave some cash to his staff. The first two staff 'went and traded.' They looked at their various options, then took the plunge and dared to fail. And their Master said '...You are a good and faithful servant...' (v.21). The Bible says: '...earth and all its works [will be] exposed to the scrutiny of judgment' (2 Peter 3:10 TM).
What does that mean? It means God will be looking to see what you've done with the life He has given you. So dare to take great risks for God! Not foolish risks, but prayed-over, well-considered risks in response to faith. The only mistake - is not to risk making a mistake.
Check out what the third member of staff said: '"I was frightened and went and hid your money in the ground..."'(v.25). The first two invested theirs; but he buried his. The first two went out on a limb; he hugged the tree trunk. God gives us all gifts and abilities. Some use their gifts and give God credit. Others misuse them and give God grief.
Some will big God up Him with fruitful lives. Others insult Him with excuses of why they didn't do this or that!
Fear is the opposite of faith. 'And without faith it is impossible to please [God]...' (Hebrews 11:6 NIV). The bottom line is: step out in faith; He won't let you down. Take a risk; even if you fail several times on your way to success, God invites you to dream of the day when you'll feel His hand on your shoulder saying, 'Well done, good and faithful servant!'
