Spiritual sat-nav (1)
'Abraham Saw the Place afar off.' GENESIS 22:4
Girls, you'll understand this - you know when you go shopping for that certain, special something, that 'je ne sais quoi'....you're not quite sure what it is yet, but you'll just KNOW it when you see it! You'll just trust in your retail radar to carry you there. Well, that's what it's like with God sometimes. Listen: 'We have an unction [insight] from God and we know things' (1John 2:20 paraphrase). It's like God gives us spiritual sat-nav.
Abraham had it when God sent him to a place he'd never even seen (read Genesis 22). But he still found it: 'On the third day Abraham...saw the place...' (Genesis 22:4). Sorted! There's nothing like the moment you see what you've been looking for and your spiritual sat-nav shouts, 'You have reached your destination!'
When there's no way through ahead, sat-nav tells you before you get there. Have you ever noticed people who see things that are just not there. We call these people one of two things, a prize loon or a visionary (sometimes a bit of both) Visionaries usually end up doing the impossible. Why? Because they've learned to follow their spiritual sat-nav!
Jesus followed His every day, through the garden of Gethsemane, all the way to the cross, into the grave and back out again! If He hadn't been tuned in the consequences are unimaginably bad. Thank God He's given you a spiritual sat-nav, learn to use it.
