Everyone hates spiders
'GOD MADE...ALL THE CREATURES.' GENESIS 1:25
While most people would agree that it's wrong to kill a cat or dog, many of us don't have a problem getting rid of those slightly lesser loved animals like flies or spiders! You see, the problem is that insects generally aren't very nice. We don't want them in our homes and certainly don't want them crawling on us but the question is, do we kill them or catch and release them? Does it really matter? People's views on this question will differ but there's one thing to remember; a person's views matter.
You see it's our conscience that determines the answers to these questions and everyone's conscience differs. Sometimes it's according to your level of 'holiness' but sometimes you can simply really feel something is wrong! What you need to remember is when someone feels really strongly about something you don't think matters, respect their opinion, it's probably a God-given one! Throughout our lives God will transform and change our thinking and this includes the way we think about little things.
For example, if something comes on the TV, you may suddenly get the feeling that it's not a good thing to watch. When this happens, turn it off! What's more, if someone else thinks it and you don't, remember it's not your place to set them straight and tell them they're being ridiculous. Show them some respect and turn the TV off. Live your life in a way that won't force others to feel embarrassed about their beliefs and if you get a little feeling something's wrong, don't ignore it. Be strong enough to turn over the TV and let the spider go, these things aren't worth falling out over!
