'YOU ARE THE ONE WHO PUT ME TOGETHER...' PSALM 139:13
There are some things in life that are so basic we don't even need to learn them - we just know naturally that they are good things that make sense. For instance, when a baby starts to cry because she's hungry, her mother will pick her up, hold her in her arms and feed her. By doing this the baby is not only being fed the food she needs to keep her body healthy, she is also receiving the love.
But check this out: some years ago, studies were done to try and figure out why babies in orphanages, who were being regularly fed, were still dying. It was discovered that they were dying because they weren't being held or cuddled because the attendants were too busy to give them the individual attention they needed. These babies were dying from lack of relationship and love!
Even when you've grown up you're still designed to have a relationship with your parents that has the basic elements of love, comfort and security. If you don't have that it can effect your emotions and your future relationships. That's why it is so important that, in your relationship with God, you let Him love you because what you may be missing out on He wants to give you. Have you ever heard of couples falling in love over the Internet before they met face to face? It happens a lot.
If two people who've never seen each other can fall deeply in love just through writing to each other, how much more should you be able to develop a deep relationship with Jesus? Think about it.
