Hold on to His Promises
'I HAVE MADE YOU A FATHER OF MANY NATIONS.' GENESIS 17:5
The things you choose to spend your money on really show what you value; and in some cases what you love. You might hate having to save up for stuff; after all it's a buzz to get what we want fast and with no effort involved! If, like most people, you have to save up to get that Nintendo Wii or the latest mobile phone, you will probably value it and be more grateful for it than you would be if it just arrived out of the blue without any sacrifice.
Anything you've had to work hard for will have greater value to you than something you got in five minutes. That can be a hard lesson to learn sometimes but if you look in the Bible at the lives of some of some of the greatest people they started out with a promise from God and had to hold onto that promise for years, until they saw what God had promised happen.
God said to Abraham, 'I have made you a father of many nations.' He said it when Abraham and his wife were really old and had no kids! But even though Abraham was flippin' ancient, he held onto God's promise and at the ripe old age of about 102 Abraham became the father of Isaac and so started the family line that led to the birth of Jesus and because of Jesus, millions believe in God today...so God's promise to Abraham came true...even though he had to wait a while.
So don't worry if God says, 'wait', it will happen in His timing, which is the best!
