Leave your simple ways, and live, and walk in the way of insight." Proverbs 9:6 ESV
Wade out into deeper water, move past the starting line, and remove the barriers that define your comfort zone.
Putting off participation in a God plan might make sense to you. If you could just have a little more time to adjust to the idea of doing something bigger than your current spiritual skill set. You want God to be patient with procrastination. Things are moving too fast.
There are things you need to do because God wants you to do them. But as long as you say, “I’ll get around to it,” then you’re comfortable in your deferred promise. After all, you can continue to push that deferment as often as convenience suggests it’s a sensible option.
God says, “Go!” and you throw up a stop sign and expect God to bless you for disobedience. You can come to believe that because God offers grace, obedience is completely optional.
New-life living is tied to your willingness to follow. The sweat equity of obedience is not because work is essential to rescue, but because trusting God’s directions is needed in order to draw closer to the direction giver.
When God gives insight, don’t hesitate. Do something with what you’re learning.
Prayer: Dear God, give me a heart that wants what You want. Give me eyes that see the needs You see. Give me feet that take Your message because You said, “Go!”
