How much better to get wisdom than gold! And to get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver. Proverbs 16:16 NKJV

Most men, at some point in their lives, have found themselves fretting over money. They wonder if they’ll have enough to meet their and their family’s needs. Men seem naturally inclined to seek out ways to earn money. But what about the wisdom they need to live victorious, powerful lives of faith?

The apostle James wrote that when you lack wisdom, “you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind” (James 1:5-6).

It’s important for you to work and earn money so you can care for your needs and the needs of your family. But even more important is growing in wisdom so that you can live and speak in ways that please God and truly benefit other people.

So seek wisdom—seek God and ask for wisdom with diligence and passion. He wants you to have it!

Prayer: Father in heaven, thank You for Your willingness to give me the wisdom I need to live a life that pleases You. Help me not just to walk in that wisdom but to always remember how precious that gift really is.

Hello @Christ4Ever,

God was pleased when Solomon asked for wisdom, and gave it freely. I find it so sad that though he had wisdom in abundance it did not result in him being obedient to God's known will for him, and he therefore had many wives, who led him astray, to the worshipping of other gods.

There but for the grace of God go you and I.

Within the love of Christ our Saviour,
our Lord and Head.

Dear Sister Chris,
I don't know if wisdom counts when you're dealing with women!!! :grinning:
I also don't know how Solomon dealt with so many...and since we're looking back, it really does appear that he lacked wisdom in that particular area of his life!

I was barely able to deal with one awesome Godly wife and couldn't even imagine having 2 much less the hundreds' he had!!!

Maybe, for both men/women wisdom I believe leaves out emotions in coming to decisions done in grace/love, which without too often leads to the downfall of humanity as it did with Soloman. The inability to keep them in check and allowing them to color our judgments I truly believe have almost caused more trouble than they're worth!!! I wonder in retrospect if Solomon in all his wisdom, came to that conclusion as well or decided that regardless of how he felt, it's always better to just follow what God asked of us? :no_mouth:

Anyway, thanks for sharing your thoughts.

With the Love of Christ Jesus.
