The Significance of A Raindrop
by Comingjoy
6-9-09

I am a rain drop
I am seen as no threat
I am not making a difference
but if not watched
I can turn into a down pour
right before your eyes

I am the beginning of hope
to a parched land
I encourage warnings
of approaching storms and floods
so you can take cover.

I am a raindrop

1 KINGS 18:43-45a

"Go and look toward the sea," he told his servant. And he went up and looked.
"There is nothing there," he said.
Seven times Elijah said, "Go back."
The seventh time the servant reported, "A cloud as small as a man's hand is rising from the sea."
So Elijah said, "Go and tell Ahab, 'Hitch up your chariot and go down before the rain stops you.' "
Meanwhile, the sky grew black with clouds, the wind rose, a heavy rain came on

What we may see as insignificant now can turn into a huge ordeal or movement by God. The world may look at my daughter Annah and ask what can she contribute to society? She is of no significance. I too can look at myself and ask what significance can I make now have that I am no longer a wife? God revealed to me that I have been seeing myself as less significant being single than when I was married. It is what I know and loved like being a mother. Having that role taken from me I feel I can not have the impact for Christ like I did. It is like I lost part of my identity. These are all lies. Yes I no longer have the role of being a wife BUT I am still a child of God. My role in what I do for Christ has just shifted.
Unlike the way the world see smy daughter disabled and unable to be helpful to society, God so does not see her or I that way. We can all feel like we are not making a difference and can get discouraged. But like a single rain drop may seem like nothing to worry about it can make a difference.

One single raindrop can offer hope to a land that has been parched by drought. It says rain is coming. Rain brings life. A cleansing of the land and a renewing of what lies underneath. Sprouting forth new life. Bringing back what was dormant.

A single rain drop can also be the first sign of a storm approaching. Warning us to take cover as a flood is coming. Get to higher ground and take shelter.

It is not the title the world may place upon us or the ones we place on ourselves that determines if we are significant or not. It is who we are in Christ. I am one of many single rain drops. I can offer hope to a hurting soul leading them to the living water of Jesus Christ but I can also warn others to run and take cover as a storm is coming.

Like Elijah's servant may of thought what is the big deal it is just a small insignificant cloud, Elijah new other wise. He knew that cloud was actually the warning to run, a flood was coming.

NO ONE is insignificant, every job and everyone is important as we are created by God for HIS good works.

Son 2:15 Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines: for our vines have tender grapes.

It is usually the little foxes that spoil the vines as the small problems tend to get ignored until they cause significant damage.

"There is nothing there," he said.

There is nothing there they say...

But one prayer...in Gods hands becomes a force thats gonna get noticed...

Jas 5:16 The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.

This message blessed me Sister, thank you!

Hi, God asked me to share this with my class at church. Well what happened right before was amazing.

God laid this on my heart to share last week. Well as I was pulling into the parking lot of my church it was just beginning to rain. As I got out of my car and walked to the building a couple of rain drops hit my paper on the poem part. I also had ONE drop of rain on my shirt.

Soon after entering the building it began to down pour and thunder. Then as quickly as it started it was gone and then the sun started to shine.

I love when God does that. How amazing to have the very thing God wants you to speak on happen? I mean the poem of a raindrop and a storm then you get one WOW

Just wanted to share. Thank You Father for how wonderful You are and what You are doing in me.
