I personally don't know the answer, but I asked the same thing. I heard a recent report on christian TV, and it was lightly answered, but I think it was a good answer. I am not quick to say it was that of Jesus Christ or it was not. However if the topic attracks anyone to look closer to Scripture so be it even better. This is very much like the movie the BIBLE on TV now. The movie sure has some huge gaps and the order of things is really messed up. But if someone looks at the Bible they just might find Jesus. Hollywood has a unique way of rearranging Biblical events. At least they did not have Moses on the Ark. Blessings.

Since God told us not to make an image of him, I doubt that he would make an image of himself.

The Roman Catholic Church has total and complete control of the Shroud, as they do many other articles they consider to be "Holy". There are many highly educated people who have examined the shroud and ther is no concluesive answer either way.

Frankly I doubt it was on Jesus in the tomb. I do think it is an example of someone who endured their death on a cross. I don't have any idea hen putting people on a cross stopped. If this shroud gets the attention to peak the interest of someone to read Scripture about Jesus Christ, then that a good thing. But it still does not prove the shroud was used on Jesus. And your stated verses are just that much more proof. Blessings.
