Second Death
Gal 5:24-25
24 And those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
Rom 8:13-14
13 For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.
14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.
1 Pet 3:18
18 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit,
Col 3:5
5 Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.
John 3:7
7 "Do not marvel that I said to you, 'You must be born again.'
1 Pet 1:23-25
23 having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever,
24 because "All flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of the grass. The grass withers, and its flower falls away,
25 But the word of the Lord endures forever." Now this is the word which by the gospel was preached to you.
Heb 9:27-28
27 And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment,
28 so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.
Rev 20:6
6 Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.
Rev 2:10-11
10 "Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.
11 "He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. He who overcomes shall not be hurt by the second death."'
Rev 20:14-15
14 Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
15 And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.
Rev 21:8
8 "But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death."
Rev 20:11-15
11 Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them.
12 And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books.
13 The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works.
14 Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
15 And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.

xxx The second death is the eternal judgment. Up or down for eternity. One either worships in the flesh or in the Spirit. If you worship in the flesh you are condemned. If you worship in the Spirit you are delivered from the second death.

Just what I consider a simple question.
No where are we told that anyone will be saved during the kingdom reign, although the number of humans on earth will explode exponentially. How do you account for the last
enemy to be destroyed being death when those humans and all that died prior to Jesus' resurrection will be thrown into what is called the SECOND DEATH even though they will see the Lord and all His brethren ruling the earth? They will have seen the King and the other sons of God and of course will believe but it won't be a faith based issue, it will be by sight just as
Thomas on the 8th day who was also saved.

I have yet to find anyone on this site that understands the second death and what its purpose is.

If Jesus must reign until ALL enemies are put under His feet, but yet death, being an enemy, still has power over those thrown into the second death, how is it that death is yet destroyed?

If all mankind that did not receive mercy to believe are in eternal torment then the sacrifice of the Son did not accomplish its goal.

That is confusing, let me study it for awhile.

Let me put this another way.

At the beginning of the Kingdom reign there will be those who are changed and become incorruptible and there are those who are not raised as the rest of the dead do not
live again for 1000 yrs.
So we have who knows how many humans born on the earth during the 1000yr reign that will be part of the second resurrection as the first has already passed.
Do we have anything that tells us that those people who see them will be saved and how would that would be accomplished since it requires much tribulation to enter
the kingdom of God and satan and his minion are locked up during this time as righteousness will rule the age.

I guess what I'm asking is are all the people that are born during the kingdom reign and see the Lord thus believe are they saved? And if not why?
This would seem to be preferred treatment for them if they are as faith was not required of them.
But since Revelation tells us that satan stirs up the people to make war against the Lord and His brethren then God sends down fire from heaven to consume them all it
would appear that they are not.
Now at the end of the Kingdom era the second resurrection occurs and those not found in the lambs book of life are judged according to works and placed into the second
death.
Who that was born again before the kingdom age would take part in the second death, as they were justified by God in that they were given the Holy Ghost and must have
been part of the first resurrection.
Best I can see there is no one that takes part in the first that is not already written in the Lambs book of life, thus ALL that go into the second death will include those born
during the kingdom reign, and before Jesus was manifested to the world, and those who were not given the faith needed to believe during the last 2000 yrs.

Explain away if anyone can.

I dont get into the future that much. I focus on today. I follow the rules of believing very closely.

The Rules Of A Born Again Christian
In Believing

[Jhn 5:37-40
[37] "And the Father Himself, who sent Me, has testified of Me. You have neither heard His voice at any time, nor seen His form.
[38] "But you do not have His word abiding in you, because whom He sent, Him you do not believe.
[39] "You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me.
[40] "But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life.
[Jhn 7:38
[38] "He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water."
[1Co 4:6
[6] Now these things, brethren, I have figuratively transferred to myself and Apollos for your sakes, that you may learn in us not to think beyond what is written, that none of you may be puffed up on behalf of one against the other.
[Rev 22:18-19
[18] For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book;
[19] and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and [from] the things which are written in this book.

xxx The Rules of believing are to find all your answers in the verses. To not even think beyond what is written in the verses. To not add or take away one word in the verses. One Cant pervert the scriptures by quoting them, only by interpreting them.

[Mar 14:21
[21] "The Son of Man indeed goes just as it is written of Him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been good for that man if he had never been born."
1Co 8-5
For even if there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth (as there are many gods and many lords),
yet for us [there is] one God, the Father, of whom [are] all things, and we for Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom [are] all things, and through whom we [live].

Isaiah 1:18 Come now, let us REASON TOGETHER, saith the Lord:...................

1 Co 2:9-10 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things that God hath prepared for them that love Him.
BUT GOD HATH REVEALED THEM UNTO US BY HIS SPIRIT: for the Spirit searches all things, yea, the deep things of God.

So what is it that is written that could not be seen? And what must be, that is not written, that is revealed to us by the Spirit?

Simply quoting verses is not understanding it is repetition. But we are told to get wisdom and with wisdom get understanding which will require reasoning with the Lord
to know what it is that is not written in language that is clearly black and white or red and white.

Your wanting to know things that I dont think is important--the future. I am totally content where I'm at in the Lord.

Mat 25:13

“Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour[fn] in which the Son of Man is coming.

No I'm not wanting to know, I'm trying to provoke others to look beyond where they are at the moment to see the bigger picture. The questions are for them and you not me.

If one is focused in on the bark of a tree in a forest they will miss out on the beauty of the entire forest.
