There are certain religious denominations that say we MUST do good works to be saved. I disagree with this.
But does that mean we shouldn't do any good works or righteous acts?
If I give a donation to an orphanage or pass out Bibles at a prison or mow an elderly ladies yard does that automatically mean I'm trying to get saved by my own power?
There seems to be a movement in some Churches these days....
Quit trying to out-do Jesus. Your righteousness is as filthy rags. It won't save you so quit doing it.
What if, instead of it being my righteousness, it's His?
What if, instead of "trying to earn my salvation", I am just letting His light and His righteousness shine through me?
Doing righteousness and good works is not a bad thing. It won't save you, but it can be a way to let Jesus shine.
Matt 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
