The oppressors confuse us

Isa 3:12; O My people! Their oppressors are children, And women rule over them.
O My people! Those who guide you lead you astray And confuse the direction of your paths.

1Cor 14:33; for God is not a God of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints.
1Cor 14:34; The women are to keep silent in the churches; for they are not permitted to speak, but are to subject themselves, just as the Law also says.
1Cor 14:35; If they desire to learn anything, let them ask their own husbands at home; for it is improper for a woman to speak in church.

1Tim 2:11; A woman must quietly receive instruction with entire submissiveness.
1Tim 2:12; But I do not allow a woman to teach or exercise authority over a man, but to remain quiet.

In a way TalkJesus is like a church. But I see so much confusion here. So much disagreement, assumptions and just plain bad non-scriptural presuppositions.
It seems there are many assertive, opinionated women here. (men too) But somewhere along the way many have lost their way.
There are some women here, who have just simply gotten "bossy". They don't always have scripture to back up what they believe, but they have opinions.

Thank you, you just saved me a heap of typing!

'The light of the body is the eye:
if therefore thine eye be single,
thy whole body shall be full of light.
But if thine eye be evil,
thy whole body shall be full of darkness.
If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness,
how great is that darkness!'

(Mat 6:22)

Hello @B-A-C,

You have been a member of this forum for a very long time, so you yourself must be included in this assessment: for your opinions have been expressed along with all others, and must be judged in the same light. Or are you standing back and judging others according to your own light? If that is so, I hope that the light in you is not darkness, or that the 'beam' (ie., plank) in your own eye is not blinding you, as you seek to find the 'mote' (ie., splinter) in the eye of another (Luke 6:41).

Differentiation should not be made between male and female participants, a person whatever their gender can be deemed to be 'bossy', even you my friend. :) .
This is a 'forum', which is a place for discussion. Therefore you will get differences of opinion, for that is the very nature of a forum.

No offence taken or intended.

O My people! Their oppressors are children,

I wonder what that means and how it is so?

I was thinking about the woman at the well.
It was 'Jacob's ' well.
Jesus said some pretty bizarre things to her (forgive me Lord if i have used foul talk) and yet...
let us read on:

Many of the Samaritans from that town believed in Jesus because of the woman’s testimony, “He told me everything I ever did.” So when the Samaritans came to Him, they asked Him to stay with them, and He stayed two days.

And many more believed because of His message. They said to the woman, “We now believe not only because of your words; we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this man truly is the Savior of the world.”
John 4:39-42

Was she the brightest spark? Don't know.
She was also one of those.... ehemm... Samaritans!!

Somewhere the middle wall of partition was broken down .... and who was there, faithfully at the time?

Sometimes what women come out with draws a blank but do you know what ?
As a long time member, also, i have been both horrified and saddened, bewildered and outraged by a lot of what men have posted. I have no doubt that much of what my input has been has had similar if not worse impact on both Members and Guests.

I am very glad that over the years women have posted and participated, with reminders about Jesus. Without such faithfulness and love for our Lord, TalkJesus would quickly become a dismal place. I must be honest and say that men also have contributed most beautiful thoughts and praise and without them how sterile and dark it would be !

Some of us are like children, in that there is innocent, daft twaddle; some like children with no malice nor hate; some as children keen to learn and enquire.
Sometimes we have no idea that it is purely our opinions... then sometimes we can consider our opinions as fact (which happens far too often) but may I ask,
Where are the men who have been taught of the Lord, who can lift those who are weak, who can build up and reprove/improve, lead the way in undefiled love and walk humbly before the LORD ?

There are a number of widows here. If that really matters? Perhaps some might ask their husbands but can't.... let us welcome such women and do righteousness.

I come back to my wondering...
O My people! Their oppressors are children
and I have to ask...
Who are the fathers?
Why was this so?
Was the Lord addressing both genders?

"If" said the LORD , if....

Yes, please women, kindly refrain!
The men who spout off, are at it again.
Please don't copy what the men do, it's annoying,
you see, when it comes from you.

Post in Peace and think and rethink before you do, people, remembering our Saviour and what He asks from you .

This is my opinion

Bless you ....><>

A song of ascents. Of David.

My heart is not proud, O LORD,
my eyes are not haughty.
I do not aspire to great things
or matters too lofty for me.

Surely I have stilled and quieted my soul;
like a weaned child with his mother,
like a weaned child is my soul within me.

O Israel, put your hope in the LORD,
both now and forevermore.
Psalm 131

Do not forsake wisdom, and she will preserve you;
love her, and she will guard you.
Proverbs 4:6

Proverbs 31:10 An excellent wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels.
11 The heart of her husband trusts in her, and he will have no lack of gain.
12 She does him good, and not harm, all the days of her life.
