The Nature of Temptations

The number one commandment of all commandments is this.

Exo 20:2 "I am the LORD your God, who rescued you from the land of Egypt, the place of your slavery.
Exo 20:3 "You must not have any other god but Me.

What is the name of this God?

Exo 3:13 And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them?
Exo 3:14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.

Who did Jesus say he was?

John 8:58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.

John 8:24 That is why I said that you will die in your sins; for unless you believe that I AM who I claim to be, you will die in your sins."

To be saved a person MUST believe in a very specific God, not just God in general.

If a person does not believe that Jesus Christ, also known as the "I am" to be God, that person will die in their sins!

Rom 10:9 If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

It is not just a good idea to confess Jesus as God, it is a must!

If you really do then are you not the "perfect man" of whom James wrote?

"For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body." James 3:2

But Paul recognizing what we needed to do wrote this:

"Quench not the Spirit." I Thess 5:19
