Exodus 10:22) And Moses stretched forth his hand toward heaven; and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days:
When darkness comes would any of the processions you have account for anything? How can they when they fade in into the darkness? What is their worth then? Nothing, 1 Timothy 6:7) For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.)) Matthew 7:21) For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.)) Therefore gather “up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where theives do not break through nor steal”. How often can covetousness lead a person to stray from God?! Joshua 7th chapter where Achan’s covetousness for silver caused God’s anger to come upon Israel. Was it not the children of Israel’s covetousness after other gods and doctrine that lead them astray departing from God so many times!
Temporal seductions and falsehoods are evil distractions that can separate us from God. Exodus 20:3) Thou shalt have no other gods before me)) means exactly what it says. If you have anything placed in your life above God, it is a “god”, and you are not putting God first. In order to live a life more pleasing to God we MUST be able to see past the temporal things of this world, which in fact can choke out the word, making unfruitfulness. Matthew 7:19) Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.)) The warnings are serious and out ignorance are they not heeded. In darkness, in the time of calamity, oppression, and hardship, your position, social status with in this world, money, riches, quantity of possessions, will equate to nothing. “for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?” Society completely dumbs down this concept. By any means getting people to trust and become preoccupied with entertainment, leisure of luxury, cares, and worries, and stresses of this life, so they do not seek the righteousness of God.
The fear of God has become absent from many people’s lives “if I be a master were is my fear”. “O that there were such an heart in them that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments”. God commands obedience, yet this is something many have lost sight of causing them to err in their faith. We are not called to Holiness to have sin dominate our lives or how then could we be dead to sin? Romans 6:18) Being then made free from sin, ye have become servants of righteousness )) and add Romans 6:20) For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness)). Together these two verses indicate that a person can not be a servant of sin and righteousness because when you are serving one, you are free from the other, THERE IS NO IN BETWEEN! Though many people mistaking live like there is, living as hypocrites and don’t know it, confessing Christian, and don’t show it.
What price can be put on knowledge? Psalm 36: 9)For with thee is a fountain of life, in thy light shall we see light)) The light is a life of holiness, “that the body of sin might be destroyed” and cast out of our lives. Christ was “made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree”. He borne our iniquity on Calvary to set us free from sin and from the bondage it had over us, but we can only escape that bondage if we lean to God and escape, throw aside, and abandon the sinful nature of the carnal mind. Sin is carnal, but righteousness is of the Spirit, therefore “follow after righteousness” and “remove they foot from evil”. Seek the knowledge that will never perish, but last forever, in the word of God. Read it, learn it, study it, leaning to God in prayer each and every day. Diligence is a must, “Seek his face forever more”. While there is time “Seek the Lord while he may be found“.
Now is the time because there may be no tomorrow. Luke 21:33) Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.)) Temporal amusements of any kind can not feed the soul nor strengthen it. Life is just but as “a vapour”, quick to see and quick to go. So I tell you take careful consideration and heed to the word of God, flee from sin, and turn from evil. “Buy the truth and sell it not“, including for overindulgence in temporal affairs which can choke out the fruitfulness of word sown in your heart. Matthew 13th chapter, the word is sowed, but only one of four locations resulted in fruitfulness. Which one are you?
