Can help us make it through

LISTENING TO GOD'S ADVICE

Getting rid of every vice
Coffee, beer and cigarettes
Listening to God's advice
Truly having no regrets

What used to be, shouldn't want
Eating veggies and all fruits
Cakes and doughnuts only taunt
Being healthy, that's what suits

Getting out to exercise
Hiking, walking and swimming too
Jesus tells us this is wise
That's how to feel strong and new

What you've left at the altar
Don't you dare pick up again
Satan wants you to falter
But you really can abstain

We will be given trials
And of course will be tempted
We can climb all the piles
And sin can be pre-empted

It's through Jesus that we win
Over the world and our flesh
Turn our hearts away from sin
And our lives become afresh

I've seen it with my own eyes
The healing power in God's Grace
Those knowing looks and the sighs
Just have faith and seek His face

When it came to sin and me
I sure had such a struggle
Couldn't help it don't you see
Till Jesus joined the huddle

TIME VERSUS MONEY

There is a war between money and time
And while it's true we all need a dime
I'll trade them in for days with my honey
Adventures with her, worth more than money

To meet the balance between work and play
Takes a change in thinking, God seems to say
From living to work to working to live
Finding an answer, being prospective

So in debating "Time versus money"
Different opinions sometimes are funny
I know we have only so many days
Now let's spend them the Bestest ways

I AM THANKFUL...

I am thankful to you Lord
For always bringing me through
Your blood for me you have poured
I believed and now feel new

There's that time I should have died
But I felt you hold my hand
Sorry for the times I've lied
Or not doing what you planned

Help me to seek you in prayer
And not to shirk my service
To have a heart with true care
And to no longer be nervous

I thank you again Jesus
Also for living in my heart
No words could ever express
The overflowing of my cart

This was a day when things went wrong
And the pile got bigger and badder
Even tried but couldn't sing that song
Everyone left seemed to scatter

How can this much happen in one day
At work, at home and even my car
I want to give up and just go play
Although I know I wouldn't get real far

Help me Jesus to get through this day
And for tonight to get some rest
There must be a reason, it's Your Way
'Cause You want for me only the best

I GIVE MY MARRIAGE

I am so sorry for the mistakes I've made
With previous wives and the children bade
Though remarried to my last ex-wife
There are still times we enter strife

I really wish that she would follow my lead
Because she now sees the change in my breed
She keeps saying that no one's the head
Meaning that leaves us two paths to tread

I'm following Jesus as Lord of my life
But keep feeling cut down as with a knife
I give my marriage to You my God
Help my wife see my love not prod

I'm wanting to lift up a new song to You
Full of love and praise and thankfulness too
Show me dear Lord the things I do wrong
So I'll be singing that grateful song

THE LAW VERSUS GOD'S GRACE

Growing up I was taught "The Law"
Then found I always broke it
Making me feel like such a flaw
And knowing I'd never be fit

Walking through life with a downcast face
Sometimes wondering "Why?" at all
Then one day I learned of "God's Grace"
And how He did save me from the fall

So who am I to judge my kin
I need to share and live the Truth
Since I've been pardoned from my sin
I want to show love, not be a sleuth

Just wanted to give thanks to God for how wonderful our(my wife and I's) relationship is. We're closer and have a sweeter love than I've ever experience before.
