Dear Buddy2,
as I go through the poem titled ' Forgiveness Comes...' I have nothing but to say,"BLESSED IS THE WOMAN WHO MARRIED YOU!". Once again I thank the Lord for pouring His Spirit upon you to come out with such a lovely poem! Keep Going!

SHOW AND TELL

Since every woman needs to be loved
While all men want to be respected
Why we continue to hold those both back
Is our own selfishness reflected

To put our mates first and reach our senses
Means that we finally did mature
Knowing that you are loved and respected
Is best when they show their true nature

God has been playing "Show and Tell" with us
Truly wanting us to play along
He is showing His love through all the gifts
While being respectful, though He is strong

Now it's our time for reciprocating
Giving to God's Kingdom here on earth
Showing respect to those less fortunate
Saving a soul is like giving birth

I hope you see that "mates" means ev'ry one
Not only the ones closest to you
So please get back out there and take your turn
By befriending and loving someone new

For the sake of honesty... My wife and I got together in 1991 and I / we didn't accept Christ till 2000. So I was, to put it delicately, difficult for her for 9 years first. We are all a work in progress and I thank God for the changes He's accomplished in me. :love:
 
REVERSE THE SITUATION

Our nation's full of pornograghy
It's everywhere you look
They hide it in our "Freedom of Speech"
And got us by the hook

Using porn leaves everyone dry
And hiding in a nook
It stops us living the fruitful lives
While leaving us feel forsook

Now satan's laughing at us daily
He's really such a crook
We think we need it for lovemaking
But see all the lives it took

Now to reverse the situation
We have to read God's book
Removing all the dirty items
It's then we'll really cook

Prelude: A few years ago we opened our home to many people and it went well, for awhile... then it got overwhelming and we're not a drug/alcohol program so chose to shut it down. It did help very many people get their feet back on the ground and I miss it. Maybe another time and place...

GOD'S INN

Welcome one and welcome all
You don't even have to call
Do stop by and spend awhile
Please don't walk another mile

God's Inn it's named and what a place
It's there you'll find a smiling face
A shower, bed and food to eat
If you're lucky you'll find a seat

I'm not sure what your trouble's be
But let me help and we shall see
We can change the teeter-totter
Through prayer, Jesus and His water

God's the reason for our lives
It's true for bees in their hives
Spread the word, do tell a friend
We need to share till the end

DON'T TALK TO STRANGERS

Some people say don't talk to strangers
I think that's good for children to do
Because this world has lots of dangers
and they need protection from that crew

As we grow up and learn discernment
It's good for us to begin to trust
If we don't, it's self internment
Learning to break out is just a must

I love to speak with everyone
Which benefits being a witness
Talking of God and Jesus His Son
and how He can heal all the sickness

Don't be afraid to say hi today
You might make a great new best friend
Whatever happens, it is the way
For taking us through to God's road end

THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ME

When presented with temptation
Holly shared a great suggestion
State this phrase out loud and you'll see
"That has nothing to do with me!"

Being tempted is not the sin
but letting ourselves get drawn in
The next step is to stop the lust
for until we do, it's a must

Then there are the consequences
You really should check your spidy senses
When we come to realize the cost
We'll get on track and not be lost

See our need to pray together
Giving us the strength to weather
We surely can survive the storm
Conquering sin and back to norm

I'VE HID MY HEART...

I'm now forty-two going on three
And feeling a bit off you see
Some would say it's a mid-life crisis
That would be stating it the nicest

I think the truth of the matter be...
I've hid my heart far from me
Men were meant to be wild and strong
But when we are we're told we're wrong

Thought the hole in my chest could be filled
Everything I put only spilled
When asking my wife to tag along
She's happy singing another song

Find the test is the challenge I have
Need proving myself more than salve
I don't know that I have what it takes
So when under pressure I get the shakes

Taught not to depend on anyone
Check James Dean, John Wayne or Jason
We are dependant, He made us that way
God help me find my heart today

THE MEANING OF LIFE IS FROM GOD

Laughing and joking with my wife
Truly are the best things in this life
Lifts my heart and makes it lighter
Sure feel sorry for the fighter

My friend and I down at the bay
Watch our wives in the water play
Afternoon spent in fellowship
Hoping one day we'll take a trip

Now calmed down and watching sunset
It's times like this we won't forget
There's quiet talk after dinner
Stories of God and a sinner

The meaning of life is from God
It's more than working in the sod
Have to share our lives together
So we see the sunny weather

LIFE ON EARTH

Life on earth as I see it
Is living all for one
We started with a Big Bang
But guess who held the gun

God is the Great Creator
The maker of it all
So don't forget to thank Him
Next time you make a call

Even Darwin thought again
Is evolution true?
No one yet has proven it
So I'll believe God's clue

Everything that's Biblical
Has come out as it said
There's a day we'll know for sure
But believe it now instead

Those are really good poems. I really enjoy them. This is one poem i wrote.

There is only one way
to the throne
to new life
to everlasting life

How i wish to change this heart of mine
That would be just fine

God's words are of pure eternal truth
In six days He made the earth
On the seventh He rested

I am the Good shepherd. The good shepherd
lays down his life for the sheep

Draw me close to you. Never let me go
Help me find a way to bring me back to you.
Help me know you are near.

Come to the fountain.
Dip your heart in the stream of life

Let your pain and your sorrow
be washed away
in the waves of his mercy

The Savior always knows whats best
in each sorrow, trial and test.

The way I've found to act
Is truly one on one
I never make a pact
Charity Promotion

Always on the lookout
for someone lost or hurt
My God will help me scout
Who to give the pay dirt

Looking into their eyes
can sometimes make me cry
They have heard all the lies
and then left wondering why

I want to pass out joy
with no limitations
Man, woman, girl, or boy
Tuning in all stations

Will I feed the hungry
or clothe the naked guy
Be patient with the angry
God, help me share my pie

POWER IN PRAYER

One day there was an incident
Which left the boss really bent
Homeward bound in prayer I went
Next morning time, in meeting's spent

But because of power in prayer
I survived the lion's lair
The boss and I, now a pair
Hope that way we'll stay and fare

Praying and knowing was the key
God did tame my tongue for me
Thank You Lord, now let it be
The problem's over I am free

GRACE

The Law gives us no escapes
but God's Grace sets us free
It's like closing window drapes
on the sinners that we be

Been known to judge my brother
God knows about me too
I better honor my mother
to escape satan's zoo

Even when I've done real good
there is no getting over
that I have done bad when could
Jesus' blood does cover

I thank You God for Your Grace
Knowing I don't deserve
I can't wait to see your face
Please find my place to serve

IF I WERE...

If I were perfect and didn't dispair
there'd be no need for a savior
I'm not saying that my life is all bad
but there are times that I get had

I have found the one path to contentment
Just let go of all resentment
What makes the difference is attitudes
Take to heart the Beatitudes

Jesus did teach through His life and His prayers
and even today helps with our cares
Gave it to Jesus the life that I left
Now I'm happy and not bereft

He asks for our faith, love and repentance
So small a price for acceptance
It's true I tell you so give it a shot
All times of the year hell is hot

WHAT A WONDERFUL CHANCE...

What a wonderful chance at life
To be here present on planet Earth
Only to live it out in strife
And seem to strive for all that's dearth

Now living and loving with my wife
Of course, my children at their birth
like playing songs on a fife
And taking life for all it's worth

HALLOWEEN

Know Halloween is a pagan rite
Where all the demons come out at night
We're protected by our God above
So there are Christians out showing love

To all the churches doing the work
Gathering the children is a perk
By being a Jesus in the crowd
We touch hearts and see them wowed

Knowing that God can turn bad to good
Is the true reason why Jesus stood
Let's make use of the chances we get
By using Halloween as a net

LOWERING EXPECTATIONS

All my life I've worked and toiled
There are days when really spoiled
I feel there are needs not being met
But truly to God they're wants I bet

I need to charge the battery
Taking more than flattery
Oh how to balance all these things
Running out of money stings

I'm driving the car on reserve
Getting more than I deserve
Down to eating just my rations
Lowering expectations

God wants me to appreciate
Things He gave me, even late
Now my heart is very thankful
Lost my pride and got a tankful
