I am suppose to write a poem for english class, so I decided to write one about Jesus, tell me what you think.
The Love of Jesus
I wake up and thank him for another day
I thank him for the chance to pray
But I can never thank him enough
He picks me up when life gets rough
He puts me down when life gets too high
Wipes away the tears when I cry
He loves me and that is for sure
I was going to hell, but him dying on the cross was the cure
I’d like to touch the hem of his garment
Just to feel some of his torment
All my sins were washed away
Now I don’t have to worry everyday
Love is what kept him on the cross
Not the nails or the boards that were ran across
We killed Jesus because we sin
We're the ones that put those marks in his skin
Put the holes in his hands
And beat him till he could not stand
After all he went through
People still break his heart in two
Denying his Holy name
They need to realize that this is not a game
Because one day they'll lift their eyes in shame
And the only world they will ever know is a world full of pain
The Love of Jesus

I thank him for the chance to pray

He picks me up when life gets rough
He puts me down when life gets too high
Wipes away the tears when I cry
