Is the Isa of Islam really the Jesus of Christianity?

Islamic texts categorically deny the idea of crucifixion or death attributed to Isa by the New Testament. The Quran states that people (i.e., the Jews and Romans) sought to kill Jesus, but they did not crucify nor kill him, although "this was made to appear to them". Muslims believe that Jesus was not crucified but instead, he was raised up by God unto the heavens. This "raising" is often understood to mean through bodily ascension. Christians believe Jesus was crucified, remained dead for 3 days and rose again from the tomb. After a period of time (40 days) He then ascended
to heaven.
Contrary to Christian teachings, Islam teaches Jesus ascended to Heaven without being put on the cross, but that God transformed another person to appear exactly like Isa who was then crucified instead of Isa
Islam rejects the Trinitarian Christian view that Jesus was God incarnate or the son of God, that he was ever crucified or resurrected, or that he ever atoned for the sins of mankind. The Quran says that Jesus himself never claimed any of these things, and it furthermore indicates that Jesus will deny having ever claimed divinity at the Last Judgment, and God will vindicate him.
Another title frequently mentioned is al-Masīḥ, which translates to "the Messiah". This does not correspond to the Christian concept of Messiah, as Islam regards all prophets, including Jesus, to be mortal and without any share in divinity. Muslim exegetes explain the use of the word masīh in the Quran as referring to Jesus' status as the one anointed by means of blessings and honors;
The belief that Jesus is God or Son of God is shirk, or the association of partners with God, and thereby a rejection of God's divine oneness (tawhid) and the sole unpardonable sin. All other sins may be forgiven through true repentance:
This opposes the Bible - (Mark 3:28-30

Another interesting thing about Islam, it is much like Christianity in that there are different factions that disagree with each other. There is Shia Islam, Sunni Islam, Shi'ite Islam and others. This could be thought of as the difference between Baptists and Pentecostals and Methodists. The different factions don't all agree with every statement made above, they should be taken as "majority of thought" generalizations of Islam. Sunni and Shi'te are the two major denominations. There have been wars through the centuries between these two factions, much like the Roman Catholic and Protestant wars during the time of the reformation (this has continued in places like northern Ireland up until the last 20 years or so)
Two words often heard in Islam are the Quran and Hadith, the Quran is the written "authority of Allah" (much like Christians view the Bible as the "Word of God"). The Hadith is just traditions handed down over time, but not in the Quran per se. Much like Roman Catholic dogma and catechisms.
Christians believe Jesus "died" approximately 33 AD. Muhammad died in 632 AD. Much of the Quran is similar to the Bible in some places, but very different in other places. Quranic chapters are called suras and verses are called ayahs. Muslims regard the Quran as the most important miracle of Muhammad, the proof of his prophethood. The Hebrew old testament was written between 4500 BC and 400 BC. The Christian New testament was written between 35 AD and 70 AD.
The Quran was written much later, from 609 AD to 632 AD.
