"The Friend Who Stands By"


When troubles come your soul to try
You Love the friend who just stands by.
Perhaps there's nothing she can do
The thing is strictly up to you.
For there are troubles all your own
And paths the soul must tread alone.
Times when love can't smooth the road
Nor friendship lift the heavy load.
But just to feel you have a friend
Who will stand by until the end.
Whose sympathy through all endures
Whose warm handclasp is always yours.
It helps somehow to pull you through
Although there's nothing she can do.
And so with fervent heart we cry
God Bless the friend who just stands by.

I've experienced allot of my best friends in my church seem to have lost their sense of caring, I am a leader in my churches Men's Ministry, I've had some illness lately and have missed some services, What sort of bothers me is no phone calls no emails nothing. When I get to Service only one man says hello no hand shakes nothing. I've always have been one who puts my problems aside to be there for others. I just wondered if anyone else is experiencing the samething?

I had the exact experience years ago. Only to find out that I ask my wife not to have visitors. I didn't remember this and it made me bitter. I decided to turn it back on everyone by not responding to their problems. When my wife asked why I was doing this I told her. It was then and only then that she sat me straight. I felt so bad and tried to make up. My friends understood and eccepted my regrets. Today I share a wonderful time with my friends and we have put the past to rest.

You need to put the past behind you and be the bigger man. They may never say anythnig to you, face to face but they'll remember.

Thank You For your response, I just thinking it has allot to do with the End Times, and the Lukewarm Church, of Laodicea, I'm looking at it as getting deeper and deeper into the time of the Apostate Church.

I really don't think we're going to see end times in our time. And we souldn't worry about it because only the Father knows that day. Not even Jesus knows when.

So, go out and live your life as pleasing to God as you can and let God worry about the rest, for HIS burden is light and HE wants us to lay our burdnens on HIM.

I do think we are in end times right now, but's my feeling.
The main point to me is what you said to live our life pleasing to God.
