[Matthew 19:16 KJV] "And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?"
[Matthew 19:17 KJV] "And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? [there is] none good but one, [that is], God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments."

[Matthew 19:16 ESV] "And behold, a man came up to him, saying, "Teacher, what good deed must I do to have eternal life?""
[Matthew 19:17 ESV] "And he said to him, "Why do you ask me about what is good? There is only one who is good. If you would enter life, keep the commandments.""

The ESV and other modern Bibles don't call Jesus good.

I've listened to several bible studies by Wayne Grudem. He served on the committee overseeing the English Standard Version translation and served as general editor for the ESV Study Bible. One thing I remember him saying is that when disagreements arose on how to best translate certain verses they would resort to a vote. He and all other committee members lost many votes.

Does democracy guarantee truth? Just look at climate science. If most of the money funds a certain narrative, most scientists will produce studies that support it.
