Holistic medicine is what we should be pursuing over all these fake chemicals, fake foods, fake drinks, etc.

Back when people were sick or "unclean", those people were required to leave the town to a place far enough away until they were better or died.
The town brought supplies and there was a meeting place. Those coming to give aid would shout to them so the unclean would keep their distance. They would place whatever they brought at a spot and then move away from it but close enough where they could see. The sick would shout "UNCLEAN" several times to make sure the healthy people were not close.
The washing of feet after a long journey or day's work. Washing of hands before meals. Using plants and other substances to fight illnesses and heal wounds. Whiskey is one used with other things to fight things like the cold and flu.

• Luke 10:33-34 Then a despised Samaritan came along, and when he saw the man, he felt compassion for him. Going over to him, the Samaritan soothed his wounds with olive oil and wine and bandaged them. Then he put the man on his own donkey and took him to an inn, where he took care of him.
• Matthew 9:12 When Jesus heard this, he said, “Healthy people don’t need a doctor–sick people do.”

I made this and am simply pointing out that humans learned to heal and that God through some way gave them that info. There was supernatural healing at times but if He did it all the time Himself or through others then they wouldn't be miracles.
The more He does for us the less we learn. I for one would rather learn through trial and error and hardships and growth than have 99% of my life taken care of and no worries.
Parts of creation can do what He can but won't do (reasons).
I don't need to read or start anything. I do know God gave us tools throughout history and natural Medicines are one of them.

Just a little information for you, Jesus came doing "Signs and Wonders" mostly. But our translators translated signs and wonders with a word miracle in certain places.
example of A miracle:
1. Lazarus was dead three days and nights and his body stink! decompose. then JESUS brought him back to life.
2. A Miracle is something that is totally impossible to happen. Not a sickness and a person gets well, If JESUS laid his hands on a person who was blind and now they see, it is "biblically term" a "WONDER" a Sign that he is The Messiah that was Prophesy to come, and Rule.

and I am not going to be in great detail about that.

But medicine is nature medicine. plant materials. like the Animals there is a built in knowledge what to eat, even for there sickness, like a dog eats grass to make regurgitate. Poppy's, Mint, ginger, in which I agree with many things you have said. simple thing as Baking soda.

MY MATERNAL GRANDMOTHER was a "Healer' in the DARKEST part of Mississippi, blacks did not have doctor nor could they go to a hospital when they were sick. my mother was the youngest of 7. My mother went along with my GRANDMOTHER, healing people, delivering Babies, Knowing all of The Herbs necessary.

But whole medicine is most likely a billion dollar business, poor people cannot afford such expense, We use to just go up to a "AppleTree" or Peach Tree, a cherry Tree, Plum Tree, Pear Tree, pull one off and eat. today no telling what kind of man made poisons is lurking into each bite, You cannot even eat fish in the fresh waters of The Great Lakes! Poor people did not polluted the lakes, Poor people did not contaminate the grass and the ground. with "Pesticides".
The government pay farmers not grow food! And Organic Foods is to expense for Poor people!
