Members of the Roman army rode on horses to show their military power. Jesus rode into the city of Jerusalem on a donkey, an animal that symbolized peace. Many people lined the streets to see the man they thought would save them from roman rule. But Jesus was there to save people from themselves. He was there to show them and the world what true love looks like.
Jesus was about to lay down His life for the world. He loved humanity so much that He left His home in heaven to come to earth to die so that lost people could be saved. But many in the crowd left that day missing the point. They walked away from Jesus, not receiving His love.
Rejoice that you are called a child of the King! Spend the rest of your days loving Him with everything within you and resting in the peace His love brings. Thank Jesus for loving you enough to ride that donkey into the city where He would eventually give up His life so that you can live forever with Him in heaven.
Prayer: Jesus, thank You for being my example of real love. Please help me live my life like I was there that glorious day You entered Jerusalem on a donkey’s colt. Help me love You with everything I have.
