The Danger of Laziness

Chad, I NEVER SAID THE NEW TESTAMENT IS IRRELEVANT.

I said that WHAT I THINK God's New COVENANT is is irrelevant.

WHAT is relevant IS WHAT GOD says it is.

Allow me to repeat.

WHAT I THINK IS IRRELEVANT.

WHAT GOD SAYS IS RELEVANT.

I have repeatedly posted the words of JESUS CHRIST-

OUR LORD AND SAVIOR, NO?

Only to have people with no respect for what Jesus says try to refute me with Paul.

I'm sorry- who am I going to give precedence to- JESUS OR PAUL?
My assumption is that if Paul contradicts Jesus I am misunderstanding Paul.

Jiggyfly's assumption is that Jesus is to be ignored if there is a contradiction.
Apparently that is yours too- is it?

John 14:15 If you love Me you will keep My commandments.

John 14:21 He who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me...

John 14:23 ...If anyone loves Me he will Keep My commandments.

I have posted links to what GOD says the New Covenant is SEVERAL TIMES.

It has been ignored.

Let's go back to Jesus.

If I didn't believe the New Testament WOULD I CONTINUALLY QUOTE JESUS THE MESSIAH OUR LORD AND SAVIOR?

And who are you to say that what He says is not true?

Acts 5:32 says that the Holy Spirit is given to those who obey God.

I even believe Paul-

Romans 2:12 "For all who have sinned without the Law will PERISH without the Law and all who have sinned UNDER the Law will be JUDGED by the Law."

I ask you- with Christ as your intercessor would you rather PERISH or BE JUDGED?

Romans 2:25 "For indeed circumcision is of value if you practice the Law; but if you are a transgresor of the Law your circumcision has become unciercumcision."

Romans 7:12 "For we know that the Law is Holy

and the commandment is

HOLY

RIGHTEOUS

AND GOOD."

Romans 13:8 "Owe nothing to anyone except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the Law."

Romans 15:4 "For whatever is written in earlier times was written for our instruction, so that through perseverence and the encouragement of the scriptures we might have hope."

Romans 3:8 "Now he who plants and he who waters are one; but each will receive his own reward according to his own labors."

Ephesians 3:6 "that the gentiles are fellow heirs and fellow members of the body, and fellow partakers of the promise in Jesus Christ through the gospel."

Fellow to whom?

1Timothy 1:8 "But we know that the Law is good if one uses it lawfully."

Titus 2:13-14 "...looking for the nblessed hope and the appearing glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ who gave Himself to redeem us from every lawless deed."

Hebrews 4:9 "So there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God."

Hebrews 8:10 (from Jeremiah 31:33- OH NO- Does the apostle Paul actually REFER TO THE PROPHETS???????)

For
this
is
the
covenant
that
I
will
make
with
the
house
of
Israel
(onto which we all claim to be grafted)
After those days says the Lord
I
will
put
my
Laws
into
their
minds
And
I
will
write
them
on
their
hearts.
And
I
will
be
their
God
and
they
shall
be
my
people.

THIS IS THE NEW COVENANT, People.
THAT GOD WILL WRITE HIS LAWS IN YOUR HEARTS IS THE NEW COVENANT.

DON'T BELIEVE ME-
BELIEVE GOD.

Hebrews 10:26 "For if we go on sinning wilfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for our sins."

Hebrews 10:28 Anyone who has set aside the Law of Moses dies without mercy on two or three witnesses.

Hebrews 10:31 " IT IS A TERRIFYING THING TO FALL INTO THE HANDS OF THE LIVING GOD."

Has God ever spoken to you?
Were you afraid?
Scared shitless?
I was.
If not, how do you know it was God?

Hebrews 13:8-9 "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
Do not be carried away by varied and strange teachings..."

1Peter 2:8 "...for they stumble because they are disobedient to the Word and to this doom theyare also appointed."

Since the Word is Jesus, I don't want to be disobedient.
Do you?

1John 2:3 "By this we know we have come to know Him, if we keep His commandments."

Matthew 5:17, 18, 19

"Do not think I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets: I did not come to abolish but to fulfill. For truly I say to you, until Heaven and Earth pass away, not the smallest letter or strke shall pass from the Law until all ios accomplished.

WHOEVER THEN ANNULS ONE OF THE LEAST OF THESE COMMANDMENTS AND TEACHES OTHERS TO DO THE SAME WILL BE CALLED LEAST IN THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN;

BUT
WHOEVER
KEEPS
AND
TEACHES
THEM,
SHALL
BE
CALLED
GREAT
IN
THE
KINGDOM
OF
HEAVEN."

Allow me to repeat.

I DIDN'T SAY ANY OF THIS.

JESUS DOES.

You continue with your obnoxious behavior and self righteous prideful tone.

You're no longer welcomed to this site. Respect towards other members is not a mountain climbing task. Its a simple requirement to be a decent human being, not to mention to be a genuine Christian exposing kindness towards others regardless of disagreements.

For the record, your wording is off and confusing.

What I think the New Covenant is is irrelevant.
You should have "what I think *of*..." not "the" you would have avoided what clearly appeared to be you saying the NT is irrelevant.

I'm sorry- who am I going to give precedence to- JESUS OR PAUL?
My assumption is that if Paul contradicts Jesus I am misunderstanding Paul.

Well if what Paul says did not matter than GOD through the Holy Spirit would not have bothered to allow Paul to write the majority of the NT in the first place. Not that difficult to figure out if you ask me. So obviously nowhere does Paul 'contradict' Jesus at all. Its your misinterpretation of Scripture that is the problem here.

Coconut, I didn't say it- Jesus did.

How do you know who my elder is?
My elders read their bibles thoroughly, thank-you very much, and do not ask "Where does it say this, that those who teach not to follow the Law are least in the Kingdom of Heaven" because they already know, having read and marked it many many times.

Perhaps I am your elder- how do you know that I am not?

It is NEVER wrong to tell someone to read their bible.

That's as anti-Jesus as you can get, reprimanding someone for admonishing another to read their bible.

You call the Law- IE the Torah- bad news, you are denying Christ.

I pray for you.

Bless up.

You boast of reading ALL the Bible, yet dont seem to understand a little something in hermeneutics called "context of audience" If the Torah was written for the Gentiles, (which it wasnt) in all your boasting, you seem to have missed the nail.

See, the Roman soldiers were`nt the only ones with a hammer on the day Jesus Christ was hung from a tree, God drove a nail in that cross, that no devil in hell, no saint on earth can remove. If you want to preach the Law, you have to go back to the cross and pull that nail. Go on now...

This fellowship is for those who desire to worship God in Spirit and in Truth, not to drag men and women who have been set free by the blood of Jesus Christ and His grace back to the bondage of the Law. It doesnt surprise me, that you dont want to acknowledge Pauls teaching, those who preach the Law never do. If I (we) deny Christ, then so does Paul, and your scorn for anyone you deem to not have read the "whole" Bible is as vain as our faith.

Gal 2:4 Yet because of false brothers secretly brought in--who slipped in to spy out our freedom that we have in Christ Jesus, so that they might bring us into slavery-- to them we did not yield in submission even for a moment, so that the truth of the gospel might be preserved for you.

Gal 2:14 But when I saw that their conduct was not in step with the truth of the gospel, I said to Cephas before them all, "If you, though a Jew, live like a Gentile and not like a Jew, how can you force the Gentiles to live like Jews?"
Gal 2:15 We ourselves are Jews by birth and not Gentile sinners;
Gal 2:16 yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified.
Gal 2:17 But if, in our endeavor to be justified in Christ, we too were found to be sinners, is Christ then a servant of sin? Certainly not!
Gal 2:18 For if I rebuild what I tore down, I prove myself to be a transgressor.
Gal 2:19 For through the law I died to the law, so that I might live to God.
Gal 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
Gal 2:21 I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness were through the law, then Christ died for no purpose.

Glory Hallelujah!!!!

"As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, they came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. She had a sister called Mary ,who sat at the Lord's feet listening to what he said. But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, 'Lord, don't you care that my sister has lefct me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!'

'Martha, Martha,' the Lord answered, 'you are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better and it will not be taken from her.'" (Lk 10:38-41)

NattyThreads, I think this Scripture makes it clear that while housework is important, we should not think that it impresses Jesus a great deal. I believe the Lord wants you to stop drifting toward being a Martha and become a Mary.
