Phil. 4:11 - 'Not that I speak from want; for I have learned to be content
in whatever*circumstances I am.'
*
You may not have all that you want in this life, but the things you have are a blessing.*There are so many people that would trade places with you in a heartbeat. Not that it*makes you satisfied in your present state, but we must learn to be content with the things*we have. The enemy comes to sow seeds of discontentment in our hearts so we will complain*about our current state all the time. We will complain to God like the children of Israel, and*frustrate our faith in him by speaking doubt and discouragement from our lips. But Paul said*that he had to LEARN to be content. That means that is was process but he got it! You see,*being content does not mean that you stop progressing; it just means that you stop complaining*during your progression. In other words, be content, but not immobilized*Thank God for where you are, but keep moving forward.
*
One of the most important things to God is our faith. Without it, it is impossible to please him*and you cannot even know him or believe in him without it. So, when you are not content and*you complain, it's just like saying, "God, I don't trust you to make things better for me. So, I'm*going to go my own way this time and get the things I want!" And when you do that, you step*out of his will and ruin your progression. He has a plan, but you have to seek him to find it. That's*why the word says, Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness! The word righteousness means "right-ness" or to be "aligned" with God. When you are aligned with his plan, you can*rest assure that your present state is not your end. He said that all these things will be added to*you. They are added because they are in his plan for you. And when you follow his plan, you get*all these things! But "added" also means that there is something there first to add to. That is really*saying that you should be content with the things you have, seek him and he will add to what you*have! Simple, but not easy to do. You must get your eyes off others, stay before God, forget your*past, and recondition yourself to be content with your present state and not complain. How can you*ever win someone to Christ if you are not happy where you are? If you are negative about where*you are and how you are living, then how is that attractive to the sinner? Listening to some saints*would make a sinner feel that being in sin is better. Stop complaining and comparing your situation*to others or to your past carnal accomplishments. God is just waiting for you to get "aligned" with*him, so he can move you forward and add things to you. But you must first learn to be content*with where you are. Don't stop moving, just stop complaining!
