The Cross Does Not Save (Please Read)

The cross does not save.

"You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. 7Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. 8But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
9Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him! 10For if, when we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! Romans 5:6-10

It's been my experience that many do not understand this simple truth of God. I am not talking about non-beleivers, I am talking believers.
A person's salvation is up to God and not for me to judge but, God gives us discernment through the Holy Spirit. And, this is what He tells me, there are many "Christians" who have not, for a multitude of reasons, put their pieces ( their salvation) of the puzzle together.

In all "reformed" churches that I have visted, you will not find a crucifix but an empty cross. Just like another piece of the puzzle, many go to church and don't know the significance of the empty cross that these denominations, of the Christian Faith, have long since displayed regarding themselves to be a "Resurrection People" and they display an "empty" cross.

The above verse explains it all and this is the grace by which you are saved through faith:
That, Jesus died, shed His blood, on the cross for your forgiveness and nothing more. And, since you have been reconciled (forgiven) called justified ( blameless) it is the "empty" cross that is a reminder of your forgiveness. Christ is not at the cross, He has risen and you are only saved by recieving His resurrected life in you.

I ask you a simple question: Do you just "know of" Jesus Christ or do you "know" Jesus Christ because you have personally invited Him in and recieved His living spirit in you? This is the gospel that saves!

The empty cross is symbolic of the fact that Jesus is no longer on it. That is something some miss and so many get lost in symbolism. Either way, with an imitation Jesus on it or empty it is a poor substitute for the reality of what He did for us.
It was on that cross that He paid our price once and for all. It was the same ressurection power that raised Him that works in us today revealing the life and nature of our Father.

We as Jesus follower should never forget what Jesus did. No, the cross doesn't save...Jesus did that by giving His life...it just so happened that the cross was the way He saved us. Let us not forget also, that the cross is not pretty...Jesus was not free from scratch or blood when He died. It was bloody...Jesus was whipped almost to death...

I think the thing is that...well I say things like..."I lay this at the cross..." to show my sacrifice. It isn't that I worship or think the cross saves.

But we have to think...if there was no cross...no sacrifice...no Jesus dying...we would not be where we are.

But like my pastor says...Today might be Friday, but Sunday is coming! I take that to mean...today might be Jesus' death, but in three days He will rise from the dead. Hallelujah!

have you heard the message of the cross and said "No?"
Do you remember when your conscience told you u did something bad?
Then you are in need of a Savior. His name for all eternity to remember Is Jesus.
The Savior who died on the cross. To take the wrath of Almighty God because of his justice on your behalf.
The cross where the demons cheered while Jesus was dying.
The cross where Jesus was abandon.
The cross where the thief had hope of his salvation in Jesus.
The cross where Jesus said it is finished.
The cross where Jesus was lifted up for us.
The cross where Jesus died.
The cross where anyone can come to and know Jesus paid the price with his own blood.
The cross is the finish work of Christ!

Will you call on the Lord Jesus Christ who died on the cross for you?
For you see he is now alive risen and holds the keys of hell and death.
This is your moment, this is your time, call on him while you may.
