The CHRISTIANS kept SECRETS.


The Christians kept SECRETS from the un-baptized, uninitiated, OUTSIDERS.

Matt.7
[6] Do not give (DIVULGE) that (info.) that is holy to the dogs, (certain people)
neither cast your pearls before swine, (certain people)
lest they trample them (the info.), under their feet,
and turn again and rend (tear asunder) you.

MOUTH to ear TRADITION.
2John.1
[12] Having many things to write to you,
I would not write with paper and ink:
but I trust to come unto you, and speak face to face (MOUTH to ear),
so that our joy (happiness) may be full.

The word MYSTERY in the N.T. means SECRET.

1 Tim.3
[9] Holding (keeping) the mystery (SECRET) of the faith,
in a pure (clear) conscience.

I hope you're not trying to equate that idea with the pagans and their 'mysteries', for they are NOT the same things.

The mysteries of the kingdom of heaven our Lord Jesus said to His Apostles that was given to them (Matt.13), but to others it was not given, involves understanding of God's Truth, past, present, and future. It is in the sense of His opening one's spiritual eyes, and spiritual ears to hear (i.e., understand). That is not the idea of their keeping secrets.

God may do that for any believer on His Son that seeks Him how He said to do it, by Faith and study to show oneself approved of Him. Some of us here could go in-depth into some things written in God's Word that the new babe in Christ is not prepared to yet understand.

When Jesus sent Apostle Paul to preach The Gospel, he was sent to preach to the Gentiles, and to kings, and to the children of Israel (Acts 9). Each one of those groups might be given a Message of The Gospel on a different level. The Gentile hearer not learned in Scripture would not understand many things that the children of Israel had been taught from Scripture since birth. And kings would have need of greater understanding of God's laws in order to righteously govern over His people. And then for those of the children of Israel, greater comparisons could be used from the histories of their people and how those things were to prepare them to accept The Gospel of Jesus Christ, for The Gospel and Christ Who was to come is also written of in many OT Scriptures.

In comparison, the pagan mysteries was about a select group of priests and rulers who used the idea of secrets kept from the profane in order to lord it over the multitudes. The neophyte who petitioned to become part of their group had to go through a probationary period before being initiated and allowed to receive any of their mysteries. And then their mysteries most often involved a lot of religious symbolism that the new initiate would never understand in the first place, but that the priests over them always told the new initiate to keep trying and it will come. Those things of the "Lesser Mysteries" were used by the priests as a 'filter' to only allow neophytes that they could control and manipulate to enter into their ranks of the "Higher Mysteries", because the real mystery was only about a system occult teachings handed down from ancient Babylon that lead to the worship of Lucifer, for that is where Lucifer worship first began per religious history (ancient Sumer and Sargon I actually). Fraternities of secret societies today are still doing that same thing, with many in the "Lesser Mysteries" not really aware that Lucifer worship is really what the "Higher Mysteries" are about (see Barruel's 18th century work about the Bavarian Illuminati).

and stewards of the mysteries (the SECRETS) of GOD. (the Father, the Most High GOD)

so that we may do all the words of this law.

The God of Israel had a SECRET:
Pss. 25
[14] The SECRET of the LORD is with the Israelites who fear (respect) him
and he will show (reveal to) them his covenant.

Get the point that we follow the Apostles' Doctrine.

Paul is referring to:
Ezek.14
[21] For thus saith the Lord GOD (the Father)

The God of Israel CONCEALED and REVEALED matters.
Prov.25
[2] It is the glory of God to CONCEAL a thing, (some info.)
but the honour of kings (the righteous) is to search out a matter.

Still not the same thing as the pagan mysteries, and the Christian does not need any swaying into the region of pagan-associated 'mysteries' at all, which was the case I so stated, and will continue to state. Some of today's secret societies of mystery initiation require a member to be a Christian, and attempt to tell them that they (high initiates in the fraternity) only have the true mysteries from God, but that is a lie.

Satan has his version.... of God's mysteries, and they are false, and that is what those initiates in the fraternities actually have. When Jesus returns their wall tempered with un-tempered mortar will come down.
