I dont want to sound funny, but I am very serious about my walk with the lord , i lord the lord with all my heart,
Iam one of thoses people that thirst for the lord,
i want to recieve the baptist of the holyghost,
i have been told some many things ,
i just need some one , who can help a sister out by telling me the truth.

I am not even joking

I am not even joking about this because it happened to me before I got baptized in the Holy Ghost. Ask God to be baptise you in the Holy Ghost. Just keep asking and asking persevering in prayer

LUKE 11:13) If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

Also in our prayers, it is always a good idea to ask God to fill us with the Holy Spirit.

John 7 v 37...."In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried saying "If any man thirst let him come unto me and drink....He that believeth on me..........out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water........this spake He of the Spirit which they that believe on Him should receive........."

After all of the bloodshedding, after all the sacrifices, after all the ceremony.........Jesus cried "If anyman thirst......"

Are you thirsty?........... Be thirsty

We can be glad and rejoice that we need not stay with sacrifice and ceremony...........Those areas cannot satisfy.......But Jesus offers a drink that can satisfy.....and if any man drink of this living water.......he shall never thirst again

"Out of his belly", not out of his head.......Get the head out of the way.....and drink of the Spirit

After you become a Christian, you have the right to ask your heavenly Father for the gift of the Holy Spirit:

"On one occasion, while he was eating with them, he gave them this command: "Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about. For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit."" (Acts 1:4-5)

"If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!" (Luke 11:13)​

Notice what Luke 11:13 (above) says about how to receive the gift of the baptism of the Holy Spirit: We simply need to ask for it! Remember, we don't receive salvation by asking for the gift of the Holy Spirit, so Luke 11:13 (above) is not talking about receiving salvation. It's talking about receiving the gift of the baptism of the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:4-5, above).

So if you are a Christian, you can ask for the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Jesus is the One who baptizes us with the Holy Spirit (e.g. Mark 1:8), so why not ask Him to do that right now? Remember, you are asking Jesus for the promised gift of the power of the Holy Spirit for living the victorious life and for doing the things that God calls you to do for the glory of Jesus. Speaking in tongues is the result of receiving the power of the Holy Spirit, it is not the goal.

Just as you received salvation by faith, you also receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit by faith. When you ask Jesus to do this for you, believe in faith that you have received it (just as you believe in faith that you have received salvation).
