The “Woke “ Jesus

No, I don't.
Show me in scripture where the instruction are for:
Making and using a rosary which is similar to what witches do.
Instructions for making huge and very COSTLY temples made of precious metals.
Keeping dead body parts of "saints" and then parading them around as if they had "holy powers". One is easily faked and was debunked years ago yet the CC still does it.
Instructions for costly "clothing" the priests wear and the various pagan symbols on them and other items.
Indulgences; which bounced from being "banned" to "Ok when the CC is low on money."
Church Calisthenics or "Stand. Kneel. Pray. Sit. Variation. Repeat.
Continued Mass as if it has some supernatural power.
Instructions on how the "Fathers" have the same level of God ability to "forgive sins" when only He can. That authority was only here when Jesus was and last I checked He's not back nor has any scripture changes on this.
Claims to have SOLE ownership of exorcisms and all knowledge thereof.

They've a LONG history of pedophilia and few if any are "defrocked" or whatever but instead sent to some remote place for some years until people "forget".
The Pope is "infallible" and has the ability to alter what God has said and most recently "blessing unrepentant Alphabet people" and their "unions".
I could go on my millions of non-Catholics have plenty of info, evidence, and common sense to avoid and even LEAVE that group.
Don't assume I don't know.

Can I propose you start a new thread with these questions. The Catholic church has supported their practices and been interrogated by many for the last 1 993 years.

@Bill is 100% correct. Many and I mean many protestants do simply not study Catholicism before make their statements.

I was asking lentz what he meant by "woke Jesus" in this discussion, I'm not so interested what Babylon bee has to say
Dear Brother,
I thought I'd let you know, if you haven't already surmised, that lentz is no longer with us here on Talk Jesus.
His decision by the way.

With the Love of Christ Jesus.

Everyone has seen it by now,the new movement or fad:
“Jesus Gets Us”
Another avenue the ungodly are using to water down the gospel and weaken the faith of the church.
It’s all round about us. Even the so called leaders in the pulpit have fallen into the trap.
Like John Hagee, who had the whole congregation yelling “Let’s go Brandon”,knowing what was actually being meant.
Pastors have become a disgrace to the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ and it’s going to get worse not better.
Jesus gets us alright,we are filthy and in need of a savior.
We need men with backbone to tell the truth and take a stand for truth and the gospel
Absolutely agree with you on this. Thank you for sharing.

To his followers he is Christ on earth
No the pope is not Christ on Earth. The Pope is like Peter continuing to lead the flock as a shepherd but is not Christ. However like executive orders from the president the pope can write an encyclical as it's called meaning inspired word. However I have seen the encyclical that Francis wrote and it is by no means God's word for us but man's word for us.

Has a invited Catholic here, I don't disdain all the other churches. In fact I welcome everyone because to me being a Christian isn't determined by what church you belong to it's determined by where your heart is at.

Now every church that I've encountered has their own little quirks, and it makes many churches unique to themselves. But I would not argue with any of them over the quirks with the exception of maybe the snake handlers of Appalachia.

But as far as like worshiping on Saturday versus Sunday who cares as long as that church sticks to it and makes that day holy. And it doesn't matter to me that people honor Mary after all it was the Holy Spirit that said through the voice of Mary from this day forward all nations will call me blessed.

Some people believe that the bread and the wine is only representation of the body and blood. And others believe that the body and blood through the consecration of the Bread and Wine becomes the body and blood of Jesus. Just because a person doesn't think like the other doesn't mean that they're wrong. Remember in the scripture not everybody could handle that type of teaching God never said that those people were not part of the flock he just said that they couldn't handle that teaching.

I often talk to many Arabs as well as Jewish friends and I say to them I cannot wait for the sons of Abraham to come together again as brothers

The bottom line, it's all about faith and love and that's all that really matters
