“With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints, and pray on my behalf, that utterance may be given to me in the opening of my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in proclaiming it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.” (Ephesians 6:18-20 NASB1995)
Not everything called “The Gospel” is the biblical gospel of salvation taught by Jesus Christ and by his New Testament apostles. There are so many different renditions of what is termed “the gospel of Christ,” or “the gospel of salvation” that it takes much discernment to separate the lies from the truth. Even Scripture verses are being misquoted and doctored to say what they do not say, or they are removed from their correct biblical context for the full purpose to deceive and to lead people to believe the lies and not the truth.
Recently, in the USA, a man by the name of Charlie Kirk, who is known for speaking the name of Jesus to his audience, and for sharing “the gospel of Christ,” and for supporting the political right, has been reported as having been assassinated. And the news of his assassination has only served to advance his message to the people, to spread it even further, and to promote him as some kind of American hero for Christians to admire, almost in a worshipful kind of way, as though he is our example to emulate.
Now, I admit that I did not recall ever hearing of Charlie Kirk before the report of his assassination. I did learn later that I had heard of him before, and I had even researched him before, but I have no recollection of that at all. So, basically, I am starting from scratch, and so I am still in the process of learning who the man was, and what he stood for, and what and who he supported, especially as it regards “the gospel message” he purportedly conveyed to his audiences on a somewhat regular and consistent basis.
So, why am I doing this? Because he is widely popular among Americans who profess faith in Jesus Christ, and they largely believe that he is sharing “The Gospel of Christ.” And his movement has a huge following, especially among young people, even more so after his death. So I want to know if the gospel he taught (or shared or spoke) with/to his audience was indeed the biblical gospel taught by Jesus Christ and by his New Testament apostles. So far in my research, I would say he did not, although there were elements.
If, as stated, he often used Romans 10:9 as his “gospel” message, then he was not teaching the gospel that Jesus taught, not if you use that Scripture by itself to teach the gospel. For we cannot just say with our lips, “Jesus is Lord,” and now we have salvation, forgiveness of all sins, and heaven guaranteed us as our eternal destiny. But Charlie did teach morality. I did hear him say once that we are to stop sinning. But even using John 3:16 alone does not give the full gospel message that Jesus taught on this earth.
For we need to know what the word “faith” or “belief” means biblically. For it is not just some mental assent or some verbal acknowledgment of who Jesus was and of his crucifixion and that he died for our sins. It means for us to be persuaded of God as to his holiness and righteousness, and of our sinfulness, and of God’s faith requirement that we die with Christ to sin and that we now walk with him (in conduct) in obedience to his commands in holy living, in practice, in his power, or we don’t have eternal life with God.
[Matthew 7:13-14,21-23; Matthew 15:17-20; Luke 9:23-26; John 1:12-13; John 6:44; John 10:27-30; Acts 26:18; Romans 1:18-32; Romans 2:5-10; Romans 3:23; Romans 6:1-23; Romans 8:1-14; 1 Corinthians 10:1-22; Galatians 5:16-24; Ephesians 2:8-10; Ephesians 4:17-32; Ephesians 5:3-6; Titus 2:11-14; Hebrews 3:1-19; Hebrews 4:1-13; Hebrews 10:23-31; Hebrews 12:1-2; 1 Peter 2:24; 1 John 1:1-10; 1 John 2:3-6; 1 John 3:4-10]
I read where Charlie consistently referred to Scripture, but if he did not use the Scriptures in their proper biblical context, but out of context, and if he did not emphasize the need for us to die to sin and to obey our Lord as part of biblical faith which saves, without which we do not have salvation from sin and eternal life with God, then he was not sharing the biblical gospel. For “accepting” Jesus Christ is not words only, but it is embracing and obeying the will and the commands of God in life practice, by God’s grace.
Charlie Kirk was also known as a strong advocate of “Christian Nationalism,” which combined church with state, which God forbids, and which Jesus never did. Jesus shared the truth with the people, and he certainly warned of the consequences if we do not believe in him, and if we do not obey him, and if we continue in our sinful practices. But he did not try to force his gospel on the Romans or to try to change their laws or to make the people of the world all forced into abiding by Christian principles, in unity with the government.
[Matthew 21:12-13; John 2:13-17; Acts 5:27-32; 1 Corinthians 1:10-13; 1 Corinthians 3:1-9; 2 Corinthians 6:14-18; Philippians 3:18-19; Revelation 2:1-29; Revelation 3:1-22; Revelation 18:1-5]
So, before you get on someone’s “bandwagon,” and believe they are telling you the truth, and before you give them your support, check out what they are saying against the Scriptures in their correct biblical context, and by comparing Scripture with Scripture to make certain that what you are believing agrees with what Jesus taught and what his New Testament apostles taught consistently, throughout their speaking and/or writing. And read the books of the Bible in their full context to get the right context.
As the Deer

Based off Psalm 42:1
As the deer panteth for the water
So my soul longeth after You
You alone are my heart's desire
And I long to worship You
You alone are my strength, my shield
To You alone may my spirit yield
You alone are my heart's desire
And I long to worship You
