The receiving of gifts is not claimed by church leaders?
The Bible declares that the gifts will be imparted by
the Holy Spirit. Also, a person may receive multiple
gifts, not specifically one gift. It is not a
"prophetic prescription", simply what the scripture
declares. If you have not received one or more gifts
you may not have the true Christ.
It is of vital importance that the utterance of Jesus Christ
as God or Lord is the identifying characteristic of a
person speaking by the Spirit of God.
1 Corinthians 12
1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be unaware.
2 You know that when you were pagans, you were led astray to the mute idols,
however you were led.
3 Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God says,
“Jesus is accursed”; and no one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit.
In the 'church' divisions will be evident which Paul states.
1 Corinthians 11
18 For, in the first place, when you come together as a church, I hear that
divisions exist among you; and in part I believe it. 19 For there must also be
factions among you, so that those who are approved may become evident among you.
20 Therefore when you meet together, it is not to eat the Lord’s Supper,
