Ten minute Bible study course day one

Im am doing a ten minute bible study course ,one each day so i thought i would share it with everyone.
Day One

In the Begining God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was empty, a formless mass cloaked in darkness, and the spirt of God was hovering over its surface.
Genesis 1;1-2

In the begining the word already existed ,He was with God, and He was God. He was in the begining with God. He created everything there is ,noting exists that he didnt make. Life itself was in him and this life gives light to everyone. The light shines through the darkness and the darkness can never extinguish it.
John 1;1-5

Praise the Lord from the heavens
Praise him from the skies
Praise him ,all his angels
Praise him armies of heaven
Praise him the sun and the moon
Praise him all you twinkling stars
Praise him skies above
Praise him vapours high above the clouds
Let every created thing give praise to the Lord
for he issued his command and they came into being
He estabilised them forever and forever
His orders will never be revoked

These few verses sure cause big debates in Science classes ,Unfortunately there are no quick or easy answers in the creation and evolution controversy. Believers in evolution claim our world suddenly appeared. Its a good story for those who dont believe in God or the bible. But the bible tells us that God created the world and through Him all things were created. Actually it takes less faith to believe God created this world and us than it is to believe our complex minds and bodies evolved from a big bang and drops of ooze.

Day Two -Let there be Light

Then God said let there be light and there was light,And God saw light was good, then he seperated the light from the darkness, God called the light day and the darkness night, together these made up one day.
Genesis 1;3-5

O lord you are my light ,
Yes Lord you light up my darkness
2 Samuel 22;29

The Lord is my light and my salvation so why should i be afraid?
Psalm 27;1

Jesus said to the people , I am the light of the world, If you follow me ,you wont be stumbling through the darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.
John 8;12

No longer will anything be cursed ,For the throne of God and of the Lamb will be there and his servants will worship him, And they will see his face, and his name will be written on their foreheads. And there wil be no night there -no need for lamps or sun- for the Lord God will shine on them ,And they will reign forever and ever.
Revelation 22;3-5

The bible uses he term Light on many different occasions In Matthew 5;14-16 , Jesus used the illustration of light to challenge and remind christians that their lives are open books, Jesus said, You are the light of the world Dont hide your light let it shne for all to see so that everyone will praise your heavenly father,
Being a light to the world is a high calling, Its pretty wild to realise that you may be the only christian some of your friends will ever meet,
Are you shining brightly?

Day three

Fear - to fear God doesent mean to be afraid of Him, or fear some type of unknown punishment or terror.
To fear God - means to respect Him, to honor Him, to be amazed by His greatness and admire all he has done for you and this world.
When you have notting to say but WOW when your describing God your on your way to fearing him. An attitude of fear and Awe is pleasing to God and is the first step to gaining wisdom.

And God Said - Let the waters beneath the sky be gatherd into one place so dry ground may appear, And it was so.
God named the dry ground, Land and the water seas. Then God said Let the Land burst forth with every sort of grass and seed bearing plant. And let there be trees that grow seed bearing fruit. The seeds will then produce the kinds of plants and trees from which they came.
And so it was.The land was filled with seed bearing plants and trees of like kind. And God saw this was good this all happened on the third day.
Genesis 1;9-13

Do you have no repect for me? Why do you not tremble in my presence?
I the Lord am the one who defines the oceans sandy shoreline, an everlasting boundarythat the waters cannot cross. The waves may toss and roar but they can never pass the boundarys i set.
Jeremiah 5;22

You cause the grass to grow for the cattle
You cause the plants to grow for people to use
You allow them to produce food from the earth
Wine to make them glad
Olive oil as lotion for their skin
And bread to give them strenght
Psalm 104;14-15

Day Four

And God said Let bright lights appear in the sky to seperate the day from the night. They will be signs to mark off the seasons, the days and the years. Let their light shine down upon the earth. And so it was. For God made two great lights the sun and the moon, to shine down upon the earth. The greater one the sun, presides during the day, the lesser one the moon presides through the night. He also made the stars. God set these lights in the heavens to light the earth, to govern the day and the night, and to seperate the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good, This all happened on the fourth day.
Genesis 1;14-19

No temple could be seen in the city for the Lord God Almighty and The lamb are its temple. And the city has no need of sun or moon, for the glory of God illuminates the city and the Lamb is its light.
The nations of the earth will walk in its light and the rulers of the world will come and bring their glory and honour into the city. Its gates never close at the end of the day because there is no night. Noting evil will be allowed to enter - no one who practises shameful idolatry and dishonesty - but only those whose names are written in the lambs book of life.

The word LAMB is used in the bible 138 times 93 of those times refer to Jesus. A lamb was one of the main animals used for scarifices. Jesus received the name the Lamb because of his Ultimate scarifice - death on the cross. Jesus gave up his life so we can share eternity together and thats a long time. His scarifice paved the way to heaven. To get there all we have to do is follow his steps.
