Tabloid Christianity

I am currently at a place where i am , i guess for lack of words , cementing what i believe about God....
Tabloid Christianity is things i have accepted thru tradition,etc..but has no true biblical base for truth.
We all have these beliefs , when we see they are not all that biblical we can begin to ground ourselves in what is of God.
Here are some examples: see if you can list some that you have heard or believed.
1. Paul will be standing at the Pearly gates
2. If ya don't speak in tongues you ain't saved ( i actually believed this )
3. God only helps those who help themselves.
4. Every one is good at heart.
5. We all will have wings when we get to heaven.
6. If you ain't financially prosering, God ain't blessing you

You seem to be in a very good place...outside the camp is not a popular place to be...but the fellowship there is second to none!




Heb 13:12 That is why Jesus, in order to sanctify the people by his own blood, also suffered outside the city gate.
Heb 13:13 Therefore go to him outside the camp and endure the insults he endured.
Heb 13:14 For here we have no permanent city but are looking for the one that is coming.

I dont even have to ask what camp that is, but I still thank God that Christ led me out of it, and set me free in His fields of Grace!

The United Pentecostals need to stop boasting they got saved because they spoke in another language.

Eph 2:4 But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us,
Eph 2:5 even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ--by grace you have been saved--
Eph 2:6 and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,

Eph 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God,
Eph 2:9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
