When the seven thunders spoke, I was about to write. But I heard a voice from heaven saying, "Keep secret what the seven thunders said, and do not write it down." Revelation 10:4 NLT

Christopher Reeve, the actor famous for playing Superman from 1978 through the 1980s, once said, “A hero is someone who, in spite of weakness, doubt or not always knowing the answers, goes ahead and overcomes anyway.”

Reeve knew weakness. In 1995, he was in an accident while horseback riding that resulted in paralysis from the neck down. Though he went through dark times and even considered suicide, he pressed on toward recovery, relearning how to do everything as he went. In time, Reeve returned to filmmaking, both behind the scenes as a director and in front as an actor.

From the time of his accident until the time of his death in 2004, Christopher Reeve did not know what to expect from life. No one does. What matters is what you do when you don’t have answers.

God leaves room for mysteries in life, partly so you will have chances to show your turst in Him and His goodness. Even when times are dark, you can overcome by placing your faith in the One who overcame death itself.

Prayer: Lord, help me trust in You when I don’t have all the answers. Keep my faith strong through my many weaknesses.
