Lift up your spear and javelin against those who pursue me. Let me hear you say, "I will give you victory!" Psalm 35:3 NLT
David was being pursued by people who didn’t have his best interests in mind. He was certain he would be destroyed if he didn’t receive help. He wanted to be unshakable, but he was shaken and felt alone.
You’ve been there, right? But the shaken can be transformed when they understand that God will give them victory. They understand that little things mean big things in the hands of a good God. It’s okay to pray, “God, I’m asking You to declare victory in my struggle.”
Your faith in God’s ability is the source of victory. It’s the belief that God never disowns you, leaves you behind, or decides you’re not worth the effort.
Today’s verse demonstrates that God was approachable in Old Testament times and involved in the affairs of humanity.
God fully understands the struggles you’re going through. He has a specific way to deal with each one of your crises and can help you eliminate your unsettled feelings. Worry will always leave you shaken, and anxiety will leave you with unanswered questions. But being unshakable means you trust God’s ability to answer in a way that satisfies your deepest longings.
Prayer: Father, I want victory that comes from Your plan book. I don’t want to settle for my own answer to a problem I don’t completely understand. Let me hear You say, “I will give you victory!”
