Spiritually Correct
Somehow in our society, it's now in vogue to be 'politically correct', but I'm asking you to be spiritually correct and politically active. In the fifth chapter of Isaiah, the prophet declares, "Woe to those who call evil good." And that is exactly what many in our nation are doing right now. In so many ways our judges, leaders, and politicians are trying to define good and evil. It just won't work, though. These are men and women with no sure foundation. It doesn't really matter what they think or even what I think.
God's Word is Truth, period. He is the one who establishes moral laws and their consequences. We, the Christians, are guilty for letting our society water-down the Word of God. "Our nation has exploited the poor and called it the lottery. We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare. We have legalized the killing of babies and called it choice. We have abused power and called it politics. We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition. And we have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression. Search us, Oh God, and know our hearts today. Cleanse us from every sin and set us free." So prayed Pastor Joe Wright before the Kansas state Senate. His words ring true and demand our response. We must, I repeat, we must ensure that our lives are founded on the Truth of God's Word and not the ideas of men. And then, we must rise up and become a part of the greatest revolution the world has ever seen. We shall take a stand and inherit our destiny as the children of God. For you see, the world is upside down, and God is calling us to turn our world back right side up. People need Jesus. That word 'Revolution' has serious connotations. It speaks of an upheaval or an uprising. It is related to a revolt or rebellion. It's connected to the idea of an insurrection or a riot! Hmm, them's fightin' words. Yep, they sure are. But, lest you go around starting a riot, let me remind you that to the Christian a RIOT is a Righteous Invasion Of Truth.
That's right, Jesus proclaimed, "My kingdom is not of this world." Paul told us, "As much as it is possible, live in peace with all men." So who we gonna rebel against? What kind of revolt should we start? Read Romans 12 and Matthew 5. Check out Ephesians 6 and 2nd Corinthians 10. Take a look at Isaiah 58 and James 1-2. The idea here is for us to 'throw off' the darkened mindset of this world. We're being called to rebel against the lies that oppose the Lordship of Christ. We are needed to revolt against Satan and set the captives free, while living as free men and women ourselves. We are in a war. Jesus Christ is our commander. And He has promised that this time, "The Gates of Hell shall not prevail against us." Let's all PRAY and FIGHT to see 'His Kingdom come and His Will be done.' God be with you all...
