If it is said there is just one church, that leads to some conflicts
#1
If there is one church, Paul would have to be numbered with the other twelve apostles. The problem is Paul didn't qualify to be an apostle along with them ********** [Acts 1:21 KJV] "Wherefore of these men which have companied with us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us,"
[Acts 1:22 KJV] "Beginning from the baptism of John, unto that same day that he was taken up from us, must one be ordained to be a witness with us of his resurrection." ********* For Paul to be an apostle with the twelve he would have to have been with Jesus since John's baptism, which he was not.
#2
Jesus promised the twelve apostles that they would sit on twelve thrones ********* [Luke 22:30 KJV] "That ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel." ********* Paul was excluded from this promise
#3
Peter and Paul preached different gospels.
Peter preached the gospel of the kingdom ******** [Matthew 10:7 KJV] "And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand." ********* Peter was preaching the promised kingdom on earth ******** [Revelation 5:10 KJV] "And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth."
Paul preached the gospel of the grace of God ********** [Titus 2:11 KJV] "For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,"
Paul preached a heavenly kingdom ********* [2 Timothy 4:18 KJV] "And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve [me] unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom [be] glory for ever and ever. Amen."
The problem arises as to which gospel should be preached? Which gospel do we believe? Do we inherit an earthly kingdom, or a heavenly kingdom?
#4
Peter would teach to keep the law as he was commanded ********** [Matthew 5:18 KJV] "For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled."
[Matthew 5:19 KJV] "Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach [them], the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven."
Paul would preach that we aren't under the law, but grace *********** [Romans 6:14 KJV] "For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace."
Which are we? Are we under law, or grace?
#5
Peter participated in the church selling their possessions ********** [Acts 4:37 KJV] "Having land, sold [it], and brought the money, and laid [it] at the apostles' feet."
Paul commanded providing for family ********* [1 Timothy 5:8 KJV] "But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel."
Do we sell all or provide?
#6
Peter commanded water baptism ********* [Acts 2:38 KJV] "Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."
Paul preached just one baptism ********* [Ephesians 4:5 KJV] "One Lord, one faith, one baptism," ******* the one baptism wasn't water baptism, but rather a Spirit baptism ********* [1 Corinthians 12:13 KJV] "For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether [we be] Jews or Gentiles, whether [we be] bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit."
Who should be followed in regard to baptism, Peter or Paul? Water baptism or Spirit baptism?
#7
Peter held to dietary restrictions under the law ********* [Acts 11:8 KJV] "But I said, Not so, Lord: for nothing common or unclean hath at any time entered into my mouth."
Paul taught we can eat everything ********** [1 Timothy 4:4 KJV] "For every creature of God [is] good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:"
Who should we follow as far as diet, Peter or Paul?
