i heard this story the other day. fella wanted a word from God to give to the people. What did God do? He gave him a fire. a barn/truck fire. now i aint telling all the story just the part that deals with fear. he had around 30 chickens. only two survived. the two that survived wern't the chickens that got scared and hunkered down and just burned up. the two that made it had the courage (had the spirit) to run thru the fire. this is where God wants us sometimes is that refining fire. to go thru it. not to be afraid and sulk.
i read once that a silversmith knows when the silver is purified of the dross because he can see his reflection in it. a moment to long and its destroyed.
nothing grows on the top of mountians. only in the valleys. so many ways to look at it. He will keep us. even to death. I think what Job said is what alot of christians need in their walk today. tho he slay me, i will trust him.

Amen brother.

Fear is sin. It is the opposite of love.

Romans 8:14-16

14 For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. 15 The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship.[a] And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” 16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.

Worth the watch.

wow. i never thought of fear as sin. i have more of a problem with anger than fear.
i guess if you dont have fire insurance or know your policy you would be afraid of death. i guess fear then could be a good indicator that there is sin in someones life. emphasis on could be.

what about something like fear of hights ? being up high?

is that a sin? if so after four or five stories high i am very sinful.
